Dunk's POV
It's been a few weeks since my brother's birthday party and today (Friday afternoon) I'm joining him, New and Joong on a weekend trip to one of New and Joong's family resorts. New needs to work there on something and we're going just for fun. Sadly Off couldn't join us because he's working and Gun is visiting his grandma or something? Not sure.
Currently it's friday evening and we're packing my brother's car, getting ready to leave for the seaside. I'm excited about going and I'm also happy Joong is coming too, so I won't constantly be a thirdwheel to our older brothers. Also I haven't seen him since the party and I kind of liked talking to him, since we got along really well. Given that, it's no surprise I'm extremely happy to see him when we stop at New's parents' house to pick him up. "Dunk! You're coming too? New didn't tell me." He excitedly rushes to hug me and I hug him back. "What do you mean I didn't tell you? Of course I did," New protests. "Of course I did," Joong mocks him, which earns him an annoyed look from both our brothers. "You said Tay's brother is coming with. You didn't say which one." New rolls his eyes, muttering something about how it way obvious which one, while Tay orders us to get in the car and buckle up so we can finally drive off.
It's friday so the traffic is - understandably - horrible, which means the drive to the resort is about five hours long. However, it doesn't feel that way. I'm sitting next to Joong and we're chatting all the time, either about some movie, series, kpop group or we're simply catching up on our lives. We also decided it would be fun to play some games like charades and similair, but we had to stop with that, cause Tay claimed we're messing up his 'driving focus'. Whatever. When we nearly arrived, we did however decide that no roadtrip can be complete without an epic sing off, in which New participated as well, leaving Tay no chance to object. He even sang with us while waiting at some red lights and such, but made sure to tell is he 'really isn't enjoying this'.
"We're here!" Finally. We take our bags out of the car and walk towards the reception to get our room keys. We had split in two rooms and Joong takes the keys to ours. He of course knows where it is, since he's been here a lot, so I just follow along, carrying most of our bags. When we get there I'm truly surprised. This isn't just a room, it's one of those mini beach bungalows and it's BEAUTIFUL. "Damn, that's nice," I say when we enter and I notice Joong laughing at my excitement. "Stop laughing at me," I say, faking a sulky face. He stops smiling, nods and waves his hand toward the door. "Here, after you. Take a look around, our bedrooms are on the first floor, everything else is on this one. There's also a terrace opposite to the entrance." First I walk straight to the bedrooms, pick mine, leave all the stuff there and return downstairs to inspect the place. When I walk on the terrace I see it's directly connected to the beach and when I look at other mini houses I'm greeted with an image of our older brothers making out on a terrace right next to our. "Get a room!" I yell at them and run inside before Tay could throw anything at me.
"So, what are we doing now?" Joong just shrugs. "Dunno. I think we have about half an hour before dinner? We could take a short nap or stroll around to get some ideas what we can do tomorrow." We decide to explore the resort, well, I'm the one exploring it, he's just there with me, answering any questions I may have. He's also making a list of everything I want to do this weekend. "But now, forget everything on the list. I'm hungryyyy. Let's go." He laughs at me lightly again and leads the way back to the reception building where the restaurant is. We meet our brothers there and I start eating the moment they bring us all the delicious-looking seafood.
After we eat, I signal Joong that i want to leave, but New stops us. "I wanted to ask you two, if you could spend tomorrow morning with Tay, since I'll be working until lunchtime. And I don't want him to just lay in bed half the day." "Don't worry bro, we'll take him with us," Joong says and turns towards Tay: "We're leaving our bungalow 7 a.m. sharp to go get our SUPs, so please don't be late, we want to be back before it gets hot." He smiles nicely and we leave. I can see in Tay's eyes that he definitely did not intend on getting up that early and neither did I. When we aren't near our brothers anymore I ask: "When did I agree to getting up that early?" "You didn't." He doesn't say anything else, just smiles. "What?" "Well, truth be told, I had no real intentions to drag you out before 8 a.m., I just want to see how long it takes, before New texts me, if it's possible for Tay to join us later. I doubt he'll be able to get up that early after spending a night with him..." He grins widely and I smack his upper arm. "Idiot. You actually made me think I can't sleep in." He laughs at me again and sloppily apologizes.
After showering we watch some reality TV, sitting on the couch and eating snacks. When we get bored of the on-screen drama, we decide to go for an evening walk. We're strolling along the beach, feeling the waves hit our feet and watching the sunset. It's kinda romantic in a way. If we were into each other, that is.
"What are you thinking about?" he breaks the silence between us. "Nothing special. I just think it's really nice here. The beach, the sunset and all." "Well, that's true. It is nice." We stop by some half fallen tree and start climbing it. I almost fall down when he catches me and starts laughing at how clumsy I am. I pretend I'm offended and we start chasing each other before we both land in the sea. We play in the water for a while, before we start freezing and decide it's time for another hot shower and some sleep.
We do shower, but we do not go to bed yet. It's already somewhere around or even past midnight, but I really don't feel sleepy. Instead, we make some hot cocoa and sit on my bed, wrapped in blankets and just talk. "Did you check you phone? Did New text you yet?" "Oh shit, I forgot about that!" He digs around and finds his phone. "10 unread messages. Damn, that's a lot." He opens it, saying a few are from his mom, leaving 5 from New:
Hey, please wake up Tay when you come back from SUPing, if that's possible.
Don't bother him before that. Understood? And don't ignore me. I see you two still have lights on.
Just come get him around 10 or something.
Lunch is at 2 p.m.
"Should I text him back...? Nah, too lazy." While he was reading the messages out loud, I also checked my phone and saw Tay's text, saying we don't need to go get him if we had other plans or if we wanted to be alone or something. I don't understand why that would be a problem, so I just answer we'll come get him after we wake up, which won't be in any early hours. We put our phones away again and sit up on the bed, still wrapped in blankets, both leaning on the wall. We're getting tired but neither wants to admit it, so we just start talking slower, and slower... and slower... and s...
