NISHIMURA Y/N
Sunghoon didn't speak or take a glance at me for the rest of the car ride. When we arrived at BE:Lift Lab, he got out and slammed the door to his car. I followed behind, keeping my distance.
When we landed on the modeling floor, I was greeted by makeup artists and people who would help me dress in my outfit. Two other models were participating in the shoot. Everyone welcomed me with open arms.
As one of the artists was doing my makeup, Sunghoon stood in the corner of the room, his arms crossed and watching me.
When Shin Haein, my makeup artist, was about to apply the cosmetics to my neck, she paused with her brush and leaned to get a closer look. She looked side to side and lowered to my ear, whispering.
"Y/n, how did you get these bruises? Is everything okay at home?"
I knew someone would ask, but I hadn't constructed a proper answer. No one would believe me if I told them that Sunghoon did it.
"Everything is okay at home, Haein," I replied. "It's just long and tiring days at my photography studio."
"But the bruises look like finger markings. Did someone choke you? Do I need to call the police?"
Before I could answer, someone cleared their throat behind us. We turned around and saw Sunghoon with his arms still crossed. He had the same angry expression as he did in the car.
"What are you ladies talking about?" he questioned curiously. His creepy tone made my eyes wander away from his.
"Oh, I was just asking Y/n about these bruises on her neck," the makeup artist replied. She didn't sense the situation she was getting herself into.
"And what did Y/n tell you?"
"Well-" Haein faced me, her eyes widening in fear.
"I just told her about my hard work at the photography studio. Lifting heavy boxes of equipment can give you a heavy strain on your neck."
"Right," Sunghoon said, nodding slowly. It almost looked like I didn't invent the perfect excuse for him.
Sunghoon placed his finger on my neck, tracing the lines of my markings.
"Haein, I trust you can cover up these bruises, right?"
"Oh, yes, sir, I will," Haein answered quickly.
"Good. Be dressed and ready in 30 minutes."
Sunghoon walked out of the room and closed the door. Haein dumped the brush in some powder and got to work on my neck.
"Haein, does Sunghoon scare you sometimes?" I asked her.
The makeup artist released a shaky breath. "I wouldn't say anything if there were other people in here, but since it's just you, yes, he does."
Haein picked up the lipgloss and began applying it to my lips.
"But I want to keep my job even if it's walking on eggshells. Everyone at this company feels the same."
The rest of my time at BE:Lift Lab was a blur. After the incident, all my motivation and excitement I had before was gone.
I said goodbye to Haein and promised to keep in contact after she wiped off my makeup. I went to the parking garage and saw Sunghoon waiting inside his car. We made eye contact, and he unlocked the doors. I climbed inside, buckling my seatbelt as he turned on the engine.
"So, what did you think of your first professional photoshoot?" asked Sunghoon.
"Oh, it was nice," I said. "It was a good experience. I had a great time meeting the other models as well."
