Naruto woke up the next morning, a bit downtrodden. For the second time in his life, he felt true loss. For the first time in his life, he had felt the loss of a mentor. The past year was a blast for him in both his personal and professional life. As his strength grew, so did his mental maturity had also, grown. Many whacky had happened during his training, the first was obviously to meet the three of them. He was at first awestruck by the trio but as the year came to an end, it was a bit underwhelmed. He thought that Shodaime-sama will be this imposing figure but when you know him a bit well, he is for a lack of words a simpleton with a childish nature, for the god of shinobi he did not have any mean bone in his body and was a lovable goofball. The same could be said for Mito-baa-chan as she insisted he calls her, most of the time she was a patient woman with a motherly vibe but at times she could be a hardass. The same could not be said for Tobirama Senju as the man came off as a total hardass with a vendetta against the Uchihas', but over time he had a great amount of mutual respect and admiration for the person

During the time training, he learned a lot about the mentality of a shinobi. During this period he started his bout of vigilantism as a practice for on-ground missions as a shinobi. He knew he needed a costume since he was very popular in the locality. Thanks to Dhriti's connection with foreign nationals, she always received gifts from different countries. One of them was G. by Marvell Comics. He loved the costumes of Snake Eyes and Shadow Striker, so he made a costume that combined both the costumes of Snake Eyes and Shadow Striker. One week into his work, Dhriti had caught him suiting up. This had her grilling him for an hour but after that, she relented and gave him blessings for his work. A week into work, he only prevented minor theft, pickpocketing, and robbery. But a week in his job, he took someone's life. The vivid imagery of that rapist still haunted him. This hampered his daily life and training. Both Mito and Dhriti saw his body language and due to having military background both knew he killed someone. Both of them individually talked to him about this incident.

The next week, they decided to try and control kyuubi's chakra but it backfired hard. Mito being an expert in Fuinjutsu, the seal was easy for her to crack and make a key for it. So when she loosen up the seal a bit and Tobirama said something to trigger him to draw kyuubi's chakra, the malevolent chakra seeped through and overtook his conscious and made him berserk, thankfully Hashirama was there and he used his wood-style to contain him and suck out the poisonous chakra. That day he learned something that, he might be an average shinobi but he was a shit jinchuuriki.

Tobirama saw it as a big red flag. Emotion was a big hindrance in the shinobi business. He saw that Naruto could be easily emotionally manipulated, so he took it upon himself to hammer him to reign in his emotions during the battlefield. At first, it was extremely difficult for Naruto to reign in his emotions, it took him months but he was improving, but he always lost it, whenever there was a below-the-belt comment, he lost it. And it took him more than 9 months but there still were instances but it was exponentially less. This was what generated a mutual respect between a teacher who despite being a hardass was a realist who did not want his student to return in a coffin and a student who is ready and hungry for anything the teacher is ready to teach. Along with that the fact that both of them thought that Uchihas' were stuck-up pricks did help.

One day, Naruto brought a tattoo machine into the cabin, and this action confused Mito. But the moment Naruto explained his idea to her, she was genuinely impressed by his idea. They planned to mix fuinjutsu and juinjutsu to make a matrix that could emulate kekei Genkai and also make a matrix to counteract genjutsu. So they started making a matrix and since Hashirama was a kekei genkai user, the inner workings of an elemental kekei genkai were easy to understand and therefore it was easy to make a matrix then during the application part, they used, the juinjutsu's mind-matrix connection was used to make a retractable matrix and then was tattooed onto his right chest in the form of a tiger to give them homage. For the genjutsu, Tobirama contributed by putting him in S-ranked genjutsu, which acted both as training and as a testing for the matrix. Once done, they made a minuscule tattoo on his right cheek's topmost whiskers.
