Helloo and welcome to my first actual long fic! This all started with me wanting to read more tennis fics and there being a lack of them in our fandom that I decided to write my own short fic and now, here we are. 5 months and 80k later. If you read the previous, unedited chapters I do advice you to reread them, because there are new scenes.

The title is from National Anthem by Lana Del Rey. The fic is roughly based in the 70s meaning, as long as something existed between 1970-1979 it exists in the fic. Harry wearing dresses and skirts is not a "thing" in this story. It just is what he wears. The same thing goes for being gay or anything else under that umbrella term, it's just a part of this universe. I do play tennis myself so those scenes should be fairly accurate but feel free to correct me.

Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction! I don't own any of the boys and this is in no way related to their personal lives or my views on them in real life. None of this is real, it's all made up.

Please read the tags carefully, I did my best to include everything important (I know its a lot). If you have any questions or concerns or feel like I missed something, send me a message on twitter or tumblr (starryhaze28 on both).

Now, I do have a few sappy things to say.

First of all, a big thank you to Marie who I was talking to when the idea hit me and who has cheered me on from the beginning and who, despite me sending snippet after snippet into our chat after they were betaed has not read any of them. My girl has some self control and I love her.

To the gc for always helping me pick out outfits and supporting me, thank you so much.

To my sun who I love so so much. Thank you for always being there for me and reading my fics and being so passionate about them. Thank you for letting me whine and complain about writing and for always listening to me no matter what I'm talking about. For always cheering me up and making me laugh. They say pick someone who is supportive, don't they? I love love love you (even though you laughed at me for how i cook my rice).

This fic started with me wanting to write a short 30k fic and then that turning into a bit more and throughout the whole writing process I was contemplating getting a beta because let's be real, we all saw the mistakes. I was super afraid of it though, and it was an anon message that finally pushed me to be brave enough and ask for a beta. I was afraid of it being awkward and weird and uncomfortable but for once in my life, the universe was on my side and I managed to pick the best beta I could've ever asked for. Alissa my loveee, thank you for everything. I can't tell you enough how grateful I am for you and how much it means to me that you love the story as much as you do. Thank you, I love you.

And a big thank you to all of you for being so sweet and patient. To quote Nick Miller: please don't feel any pressure to like it I only spent 7000 hours writing it. This fic is yours now and all I ask you is to be gentle.
