I didn't cry at Tamiko's memorial, but my bravery act broke down when I saw Miko, clearly shattered but trying to look calm.
"Don't cry now, Ei," Miko said soothingly, "I know you two were close but you shouldn't cry this much in front of everyone. Be strong Ei, she would want you to."
"I know.." I said, slightly ashamed of her seeing me as this woman who was full on ugly crying in front of all Inazuma.
"Yes well," Miko looked at me with a wry smile, "even Makoto wouldn't want you to lose face in front of everyone."
I half-smiled at her and looked to the newly cleared horizon, inazuma had a long road ahead, but I was at least sure that Miko would help me get there.
Onward and upward, That's what Makoto had said to me, that is the way towards true eternity, Ei, follow that path, I will meet you at the end of it.
