My euthymia should have been the most relaxing place in the world, and maybe it would be for anyone who didn't spend all of their time there.

I closed my eyes and straightened my legs from the crossed position i had them in. For the meantime, i decided to walk around the euthymia until i could settle down again. I began to make a few laps around the circular space and while i did that, i began to realize just how much i missed Miko at that moment. Why hasn't she come to see me? I couldn't remember the last time she had visited me and brought me those light novels of hers and of course my favorite tricolor dango.

I knew i probably sounded like i was pouting but i swear I wasn't, I was just hungry.

    And bored.

    And... lonely.

I sighed again, just how much time actually passed?

"Well, this is new, every other time i come to see you, you've been meditating and I've had to go into my fox form and yip loudly for you to finally wake up." I looked up suddenly, I was right about who I thought i had heard.

    "Miko!"

"And then I told him that if he hadn't been so silly in his little 'investigation' that..."

I was honestly enjoying having Miko around, she had brought with her several of her newest novels as well as sweet sushi and, (of course) dango.

"how long haas it actually been since you visited me last?" I asked her, having her around was making me feel energized again.

Miko smiled, "It's been almost exactly three years since the last time i graced you by coming to visit you in your lonely mind space ." My smile dropped, "Oh, three?" I glanced down for a second, "And what time of the year is it again?"

Miko looked at me strangely, "It's autumn, why are you asking so suddenly?" I gave her a long look, did she not remember this kind of thing anymore? "Today... is the time of year 500 years ago that the calamity happened, Back when...."

"Oh," she said quietly, "yes, i suppose it has been a long time." There was a silence except for the wind blowing softly over the euthymia. Neither of us seemed to know what to say after that and there was quiet for a while.

"Oh Ei, i just remembered a report Sara wanted me to show you." She pulled a large portfolio out of her bag and handed it to me. "Oh? What is the lowdown of this one?" She flicked her hair back slightly, "Oh just some nonsense about how there have been an increased amount of attacks from around the Kamisato estate. Sara thinks that they are being drawn to something—or someone—nearby."

"that is indeed interesting, but have they at all considered that the source of these attacks might be because of something from inside the estate? Not just nearby?" Miko glanced at me, "Wouldn't the Yashiro commissioner have answered the report with some evidence?" "Theoretically, yes," I said, putting the portfolio down, "But what if the he knows what's happening, and has decided to keep the information a little more confidential, or has a suspicion of what the problem is?"

Miko shook her head at me, "Im sure it doesn't matter to me whether there are or aren't problems in the oh so accomplished Yashiro commission. Even so, i wish i didn't have to be the army's reports, always having to deliver the most important ones to your puppet."

I sighed, this wasn't the first time Miko had complained about the messages she had to carry back and forth. She always acted like she had no opinion on the matter or that she wouldn't care if if our front lines were slaughtered or not.

she used to, i thought, when the commander was someone she deeply cared about. It was times and moments like these when i simply couldn't help but recall just how Tamiko looked and talked, her sparkling amethyst eyes and magenta hair with light pink accents, and her clothing style, that looked both snappy and stylish but was nothing like what was normal dress on the islands of Inazuma.

"Ei? I've lost you again, haven't i?" "Uhh" i looked at her trying to recollect my thoughts, "I don't think there is anything that i want to say to that report. You don't have to tell Sara that I said anything about it." "Alright then," Miko said, standing up and packing up her bag. "I will either see you when i come visit you next, or," she smiled at me wryly, "you'll come visit me instead."

"Oh, Miko" I murmured as she left the euthymia, "I will truly miss you in the time it takes you to come back."
