Zim's 'spooch was beating fast when he woke up. He was sick of the dreams about Dib.

At least they aren't explicit...

None of his dreams included sex with the human. No. They were much worse. They included the feelings of love. Giggling and kissing all over his face while he blushes, watching movies together, and the two looking into each other's eyes with admiration that would make even Schloopiton jealous.

The alien sighed and got out of bed. He told himself he'd compose himself and try to be like he used to be with the Dib. It was going to be hard but he could do it. He was an Irken for Irk's sake! He went up the elevator and to the kitchen.

He was met with the scent of burnt muffins. Great. GIR was cooking again. "GIR! Where are you?!" he screeched. GIR ran out with a pig in his hands. "Hi, Zim! How'd you sleep?"

"Fine..." he said "Why are you burning things in the kitchen? This is specifically why I told you not to cook!" GIR looked at the smoking oven and gasped "My muffins!"

He ran over to the oven and opened it, black smoke wafting out. GIR pulled the tray out with his hands and frowned "My muffins! They ruined!" GIR teared up. As much as he was moody about all this, he didn't want GIR to be upset. Zim walked over to him. "hey, uh...want me to help make a new batch? Zim has time."

GIR looked up at him "You means it?" Zim smiled and nodded "Yeah. Sure I do. You're my...friend..." the robot hugged him tightly "Thank you, Zim! You're my friend too!"

This was different. He called GIR his friend and meant it. Was this part of the love thing? It was a different feeling than when he was with Dib. Zim guessed there were many different kinds of love. This one was okay with him. It didn't hurt as much and it made GIR happy so he accepted it. GIR was now his friend. The last time he had a friend didn't go so well. It was Keef. He didn't want to think about that insane human other than the fact that Dib came to save him after he rejected and yelled at him like that. Sure, he forgave him for everything and claimed that it was his fault but that didn't make it any easier on the alien.

The kiss was what affected him the most, however. It felt warmer and fuzzier. It made his 'spooch do flips. He wanted to hold the human and tell him he missed him but he knew he couldn't. It was just because they had a good connection. That's all. It was Dib who had the confusing emotions he didn't quite understand.

The robot and the alien finished up the batter for the muffins and threw some chocolate chips in there then put them in the oven "There. Now, watch the oven, and don't get distracted by pigs this time."

GIR saluted "Yes, sir!" and sat down in front of the oven, staring at the timer and petting his pig. That robot was something else. Zim put on his eye contacts and wig and walked out the door to skool.

When he got there he went to his English class and zoned out out of boredom. He skipped gym class, even though Keef was no longer in gym class, and went straight to lunch. He saw Dib eating lunch with his sister. Suddenly his 'spooch started beating faster. Why did this always happen?! It was driving him insane! Dib saw him and smiled, signaling him to come over. Zim smiled back but it was a little less confident than his. He walked over to them.

"Hey, Zim!" Dib said, the smile still on his face "H-Hey, Dib..." fuck! That sounded awful! What was wrong with him?! "So, Gaz and I were talking and were wondering if the three of us can hang out. We could go see a movie or pig out on pizza. Sounds fun, right?"

That's funny. The human didn't sound as nervous as he did the other day. Was it because he confessed his strange feelings to Zim? "U-Uh yeah. Sure. What day were you thinking of?"
