Its been raining all day long, which meant that Elijah and I had to cancel our picnic date at the local park. It's a shame, honestly. I've been quite excited about it but there was nothing we could do about it anyway.
Elijah smiled at me as he sat at the table, wearing the dark blue sweater he bought last week. He was leaning on his chair looking out the window, as it was a cold day for summer.
"It's a bit cold for this time of the year, don't you think, love?" He asked as he sipped something from his glass cup.
"Oh, yeah definitely. But that just means that we can stay inside, cook dinner, get cozy on the couch, and watch some movies" I grin at him. I didn't mind staying in with him, I enjoyed staring at his handsome face way too much.
"Hm. How do you know what exactly I was thinking?" Elijah laughs as he takes my hand and stands up, pulling me up from my seat. "Let us start with that dinner, shall we?"
He smiles and looks at me and leads us into the kitchen, where he opens the fridge to get the ingredients for a chicken pasta that he was looking forward to making that night. "I hope you don't mind chicken?"
I didn't.
"you know exactly how much I love your chicken pasta, amor." I tease him and put the pasta into a pot of boiling water. "I do, but I'm a gentleman and I love to hear it straight from your lips." He smirks at me and starts to cook the chicken for the dish, chopping it up and frying it with some spices. "Hmm, how about you make the strawberry shakes? Yours are the best, darling." He suggests, looking at me across the kitchen.
Watching Elijah cook was a different kind of hot.
Especially when he had his sleeves rolled up and the way his hands cut the chicken- lord have mercy on my soul.
"Of course," I get the strawberries, wash them, take their calyx off, and chop them in half so I can put them into the blender more easily. I make sure to leave two strawberries for the glasses. I add the milk, some sugar, and vanilla ice cream, and mix the ingredients in the blender.
"That smells delicious." He chuckles at me and finishes cooking the chicken, he then puts the pasta on two plates and carries the plates into the living room. We eat and chat together, "I'm glad that we decided to stay in tonight." He says softly, running a thumb gently along my cheek as he looks down at me with his beautiful brown eyes.
I was so in love with him and I am more than just delighted to spend my forever with him.
Forever might be a long time. And yet, with him, even forever is not long enough.
"Sooo," I smile. "What movie would you like to watch?" It was his turn to pick out a movie for us to watch since I got to pick one last night.
"How about..." He zoned out for a few seconds, "The Dark Knight?" It was such an obvious answer that I actually had to laugh out loud.
"Of course you'd suggest a movie that stars Christian Bale," I shook my head but handed him the remote in approval. I take a bite from his Chicken Pasta and smile. I swallowed the food I had in my mouth before I spoke up, "Okay fine, I'll say it again. I absolutely love your pasta."
Elijah was an incredibly talented chef, whether he'd like to admit it or not.
"I know you do," he shook his head with a cocky smile.
"But I appreciate the ego boost anyway."
