"Thank you for the drive Bonnie", I close the door gently before throwing my bag over my shoulder. "See you tonight, Y/N" Bonnie says before driving off.

See you tonight.

I sigh and walk into my house, tonight was the masquerade ball which was hosted by the Mikaelsons and the whole town was invited. Was I ready? No. But when does anyone ever ask for my opinion?

We needed to hurl out Klaus so that we could save precious little Elena.

I sound bitter, and guess what?

I am.

These past few months no one has ever done anything else but protecting and saving Elena. Even I died and the only thing I had gotten was a 'try better'. So what if I'm petty about this? I didn't really ask to be turned into a vampire but then again, my opinion is irrelevant around here. To be completely honest with you, I don't even get the fuss about killing Klaus.

After all, he saved my best friend Caroline's life.

I owe him for that.

A few weeks ago Care was bit by her boyfriend, well now ex-boyfriend, Tyler. If it weren't for Klaus, she would have been dead by now. Yeah, sure. If it weren't for Klaus in the first place Tyler would have never turned into a Hybrid but I also expected him to not care.

A win is a win.

Besides, I had just become friends with Rebekah and I don't want to upset the other originals by having Klaus killed. I pick up my phone and dial a number that I haven't used in months. I hold the phone to my ear and wait for him to pick up.

...

you have reached the mailbox of Elijah.

Damn him.

"What's the point of having a phone if he never picks up?" I grumble in front of me before tossing my phone on my bed. I walk into my kitchen and make myself something to eat when my phone starts to ring. I genuinely hope it's Elijah.

It is. I pick up and he begins to talk.

"Y/N, what did you call for? I hope it's important." His smooth voice rings through the speaker.

"Elijah, yes, yes it's important. Can you meet me at the local library in 10?"

"I'll be there." He answers.

"Great, see you then," I say before hanging up. God, what have I gotten myself into? I guess there's no turning back now, Elijah already received my call. But am I really going to betray my friends?

"Sooooo" I nudge Caroline playfully, "what's going on between you and Klaus, eh?" I chuckle as I watch her cheeks go red.

"There's nothing going on between me and Klaus!" She quickly jumps into defense.

"Are you sure? Care, I see the way he looks at you. You can't tell me that there's absolutely nothing going on between the two of you." I grin.

I was genuinely happy for her.

Caroline has only dated douchebags.

Matt broke up with her because he found out she was a vampire, don't let me get started on Tyler. That guy was a total asshole. Looking after other girls while being in a relationship is a no-go.

Klaus made her happy in a way that I had never seen before in her. Care was radiating happiness wherever she went - she's like a completely different person. In the best way possible of course.
