THE REST of the couple weeks came slightly easy. i missed the days of finals; deciding to stay home and work on other things such as my guitar skills and what not.
i talked to my dad about getting further into music and it had actually inspired him as well. it was good news but not enough to remove the constant thought that the boys would still be leaving sometime soon.
i feel maybe it's time to get more help from them and be able to build a platform to better myself for when they leave.unfortunately, they had delved their time so deep into school and extracurricular's we hadn't touched base since the day i went over there. i haven't even heard news about how the song i wrote was going.
as the day had gone on, i sat— my blankets wrapped around my body as i occupied the seat on my porch; strumming softly at the strings of my acoustic— tapping what was left of my cigarette ash towards the ground, it was the only time i could light one, everyone was gone for the day and it was very well needed after a move.
was i supposed to text? or even care this much? i barely knew them anyways, they could have people to worry about not just me but ada— where the hell did she go? i never got that call.
i strummed a couple of chords, mumbling the random lyrics i tried to make— without any kind of band, half of this was impossible. maybe i'll never make it.
i place the guitar down and stare across the street at the three little boys run around their lawn; screaming and laughing at each other as they sprayed each other with those little yellow water guns. who knew such little kids enjoying their time could take me years back in new york. one day i'd need to go back, it's got to be planned.as i began to doze off, my phone vibrates rapidly beside me, the caller ID being labeled 'tom cat'
i let out a sigh, grabbing the phone and pressing that green little pick up button.
"you finally call—"
"the song is done! we did it! we finally finished it after days of work! all for you gen!!!" his voice had cracked over the phone as i pull it away from my ear, surprised by his excitement.
"that's good—" "good?! it's great! we'll be over in five, get ready to hear how good it sounds!!"
without any explanation as to where they had been all these days the call ends.
there was nothing left for me to do then rush inside and clean up the mess i had previously left. if they were coming, there was going to be a good impression
✮
"y/n! open the dooor!" the voice of tom had sang as he pounded against the door.
i brushed out my hair and tossed the brush to my bed. quickly, i grabbed the strawberry scented perfume and sprayed it across my body even against my hair; dropping it to the floor. i rush downstairs and swung open the front door.
