Chapter One
🤚🏻
Pitiful Existence.
A harrowing guttural scream echoed through the speaker.
Blood splattered across the ground like a red gash.
"Oblique!"
A dark-haired man in a costume gasped and held his side in agony.
Satsujin blushed and giggled, picking at the stitch under his eye.
The woman next to him, a light-feathered mutant with an owl head, hooted in distaste like the red-blooded hater she was. Satsujin steadfastly ignored her, his gaze entranced upon the screen. The dark-haired man collapsed as the villain of the day sent spikes of solid glass firing into the man. Satsujin licked his lips.
"I can't believe this!" The newscaster gasped in shock, dark hand flying to her mouth. "This villain appears to have just taken down Pro Hero, Oblique with a shard of glass to the chest!" She squeaked with her mouse ears flicking back.
Satsujin burst out laughing, gripping his grocery bag tightly as he hunched over in his hysterics. This was just too funny! The way the man collapsed like a puppet with it's strings clipped. The way the broadcaster just squeaked so suddenly, like a rodent being stepped on.
A man behind Satsujin who held his daughter closely against his hip, not allowing her to watch a the brutal murder of the Pro Hero but not walking away, glared at Satsujin. What a bitch. It wasn't his fault that this was just so funny.
Satsujin chuckled as another Pro Hero knocked the villain out with a single hit. It was such an anticlimactic end to the previously intense fight. The two Pro Hero's must have been at completely different power levels. Satsujin howled with laughter at the thought, tearing up, uncaring of the disgusted eyes upon his figure.
If the idiot had just stayed back he would have survived! This villain wasn't even a real threat! His death was absolutely worthless!
Satsujin snorted and wiped at his eyes, sighing happily. The man behind him caught a glimpse of his blushed cheeks and dilated eyes and scoffed. "Fucking villainous freak." He whispered.
Satsujin giggled and turned away from the now-boring event in the store window television as the heroes began to pull Oblique's body away. He grinned widely at the man who had insulted him, shouldering right between the man and his daughter, plucking the pink rose flower right out her hair as he waltzed past.
"Thank you." Satsujin grinned into the man's ear as he leaned away disgusted. The long-haired boy kissed the middle of the flower, holding eye contact with the man and tucked it into the ear he had just whispered in.
Satsujin walked away, whistling happily as he stifled more giggles.
It was amazing! So inspiring!
That hopeless expression on his face as he realized that he had lost. The red blood bursting from it's containment like paint across an easel. The glass shard exploding from his back where it had lovely cut straight through his spine. Just how fucking useless the man was in the long run. The entirety of his life, his hopes and dreams all leading up to this moment of nothing!
Satsujin could only sigh contently at the thought, his blush finally fading away as he calmed. If only it had been Satsujin. What an amazingly inspired end that would be.
Satsujin weaved his way through the heavy crowds of midday. Vendors hooted and called out for their wares, cars zipped past in the clogged traffic, pouring their polluted gases into the air. Businessmen and women screamed at their phones. Such a miserable place the city was. It was perfect for Satsujin. Such a sprawling terrain of agony.
