THE DAY WAS FINALLY OVER after a few more classes where you didn't meet anyone else since you've already wasted enough social energy for today.
Who knows? Maybe you will get to someday.
Stan wasn't on the bus in the afternoon and as you texted him about it he said a family emergency, you shrugged it off since it wasn't any of your business and tolerated the bus ride without him, it's not like you've you haven't already anyways.
You were conveniently dropped off at a bus stop near the Hello Kitty shop so you walked over to get your first day on The job done.
You push through the pink glass doors, look around the store you see a girl already at the cashier for the shop portion.
She scrolled through her phone and you noticed that her hair was puffy, kinda scene, with dirty blonde roots and bleached white hair. Complimenting the glittery stars on her face.
You walked up to the counter, making her look up from her phone. "Hey uhm, is Mrs. Golding here? Today is my first day on the job." I spoke quickly while I still had her attention.
She nodded and leaned off the
Counter and face a door behind her, opening it and yelling out, "New employees here!"
Then closed it, leaning back at the counter to inspect me.She raised a brow as she chewed loudly on a piece of gum, "What's your name? Haven't seen you around before."
"Oh, it's [Y/N] Evans, I'm new to town."
She hummed in acknowledgment, "That's cool. My name is Katie."
I nodded and took this opportunity to compliment her, "I like your stars by the way, it looks pretty on you."
She grinned, "Really? You don't think they're stupid?" She leaned off the counter for a moment and reached under, pulling out a notepad and a Hello Kitty pen.
I was confused by her sudden change of tone, it sounded aggressive and the last thing I needed was to upset someone first day on the job.
"W-why would I think that?"
Katie rolled her eyes and placed her hands on her lips as she glared at me, "Just say they're stupid, you don't have to be all friendly with me."
I frown, "They're not, I do think they're cool." I fidget.
"Stars are cool." I adjusted my star hair clips intentionally so she could see I was also wearing stars.
She looked up at my hair clips but before she could comment on them Mrs. Golding came out of the door behind Katie and smiled as soon as her eyes laid on me.
If it wasn't for the counter separating us I would've predicted she'd crush me in a bear hug just by the way she looked over me like a proud mother.
That made me frown even more, I haven't seen that look in a while.
"[Y/N]! You made it, C'mon, let me discuss a few things with you.

GETTING STARTED
surprisingly wasn't too hard, Mrs. Golding went over schedules about who works diner and who works shop, you had met the other employees and they weren't too bad.So there you stood, on the cashier counter alongside Katie who was doing her lip gloss You listened to the awful radio music that played in the background, and you were surprised to see how immune Katie was to this music since you were silently suffering.
"This music sucks bro, and today is slow." You groaned, letting your head fall to the counter.
Katie glanced at you, "Eh, I like slow days. Gives me more time to get myself prepared for cute boys."
You turned your head to her confused.
She stopped applying her lip gloss, looking up at the ceiling as she thought, "Or girls, whatever. I swing all ways."
You turned your head against the counter again, giggling like a goof and Katie couldn't help but smile, "I don't want to hear about what ways you swing."
She shrugged and went back to her red lip gloss.
The music continued playing, drowning out the sound of bells ringing and you didn't notice the blonde that came up to your counter since you were watching Katie.
"Excuse me?" You heard a feminine voice and looked up at the source; the source being a pretty short-haired blonde that looked down at you with a curious expression.
Another thing you took note of other than her pretty looks was the ice cream shop uniform she wore softly, the same way she wore the pink jacket matching it and white fingerless gloves.
You looked up at her and then behind her, where an ice cream shop stood.
Huh, I didn't notice that before.
You thought, standing up and stretching."Welcome to the Hello Kitty Cafe, what would you like?"
You repeated the greeting Mrs. Golding told you to greet customers with."Could I get a vanilla milkshake with some.." she looked above your head where the menu was shown on small TVs, "Hello kitty shaped chicken nugget and fries?"
You nod and insert the order into the register, "How many nuggets ma'am, four, six, ten, or twenty?"
"Six please."
"Okay and that'll be $__.__"
She handed you the money and you gave her back change.
"If you could take a seat anywhere you'd like, I'll be out with your order in a bit."She nodded and looked down at your name tag which was decorated with stars and hearts that read, Hello! My name is [Y/N].
When the cashier went to the back she turned around and sat in one of the booths by the window, watching people pass by and watching the ice-cream shop she works for.
She watched as the [H/C]-haired waitress wrote down and doodled in their notepad, and they noticed whenever a {genre of music} song would come on on the radio they would bop their head to the left and right.
Marjorine Stotch leaned her head as she watched the waitress she considered cute, smiling at them.
You felt a stare and looked up on instinct, only to see the blonde staring at you intently.
Normally, you would be freaked out but the way she smiled and instantly looked to the window once you caught her was kinda cute.
You smiled at the back of her head.
What a sweetheart.
