I WOKE UP  TO THE SOUND
of my phone ringing, I closed my eyes in annoyance before finally sitting up from my scattered position from sleeping.

I searched for my phone around my room, before finding it beside Star's cage.

Oh, I forgot I left it there.

I instantly went to retrieve it, desperate to stop the awful ringtone of the song Butterfly.

Ay, AY AY I'm your little butterfly!-

"Hello?" I spoke into the phone, I cringed at my tired voice that slightly cracked.

"HEY! How's my favorite cashier!?" I groaned, hearing my manager's voice.

"I'm doing good," I massaged the bridge of my nose, already feeling the migraine his high-pitched voice was causing, "What do you need? Today's my day off."

"Well, Good and bad news.."

"Oh god," I spoke, mentally preparing for whatever he had to say.

"You want good news or bad news first?"

"Just explain why the fuck you're calling me at eight in the morning."

"Language! >:(" My manager warned, "But fine, So... The shop is getting shut down,"

I felt my jaw drop, more at the fact I was not gonna have a job any more than the fact that the shop was closing. "WHAT?"

"but listen! there's this new shop opening in South Park that needs a new employee. But here's the catch.."

I listened as I fidgeted with a loose string on my shorts/pants, if the shop was closing I needed a new job and was willing to take anything, "It's a cafe slash store, So you're gonna be working hard, but it pays well!"

"And if you're a fan of Hello Kitty you'll be happy to work there!"

I raised a brow, "A hello kitty cafe and shop? In South Park?" To me, working in a Hello Kitty store sounded like heaven. But in South Park? sure, South Park wasn't too far away from my apartment but it was far away from my school. Meaning I would have to switch schools for work.

Would I switch schools just to work in some Hello Kitty shop in South Park? Yes, yes I would.

"Fuck it, I'm in."

I WALKED OUT INTO THE freezing cold of South Park as I entered town, North Park could never compare to South Park's. Now I understand why the guys from yesterday wore those clothes.

The crunching of snow in between the sidewalk and my Converse occupied my ears as I looked around. Not many people were out today and I assumed it was the weather. Of course, no one wanted to go out when it was freezing cold.

I kept my hands in my pockets, trying to prevent them from getting too cold as I searched around for the Hello Kitty shop.

Once It came into my view I instantly went over and pushed the doors open.

I let out a small gasp at the shop, The walls and tiled floor were pink, and almost everything was pink.

they went all out on this.

The shop and cafe were right beside each other, the cafe side having cute-themed tables and the shop having little shelves and displays for the merchandise, leaving the counters connected.

I was pulled out of awe when I heard a voice behind me, "Isn't it cute?" I turned towards the voice to see an elderly woman, with a nice smile on her face as her long gray hair was in a braid over her shoulder, partially covering her pink Hello Kitty apron.

"Yeah, it's nice." My eyes trailed down to the name tag on her uniform and I could only make out one word: manager.

her smile grew as she walked towards me, "Thank you! I'm so happy we could open up here in South Park," She inspected me, but I didn't feel any judgment. Her kind aura was radiating and I felt somewhat comforted. Kinda reminds me of someone.

"You must be [Y/N], correct?" The sweet woman spoke softly, I raised an eyebrow.

"How do you know my name?"

"Dylan told me about you! All good things I promise." Dylan was my boss from the convenience store, he was a 24-year-old guy who was pretty young to be running a business. He had some experience with shops as he once owned a hot topic before it mysteriously burned down for some reason.

He was nice, he was nice looking too, he had short brown hair and greyish blue eyes with freckles, hell, he could pass off as my age even if he didn't have a wife and a child on the way.

I nodded, "That's good, what's your name?" I asked politely, my feet shuffling.

"Oh my! Sorry I haven't introduced myself," the woman apologized with a gasp, "My name's Deliah Golding, I am the manager and owner of this little shop."She introduced herself, her smile never leaving its place.

I leaned on one leg as I nodded my head once more, "Nice to meet you, so... I heard you were hiring?" I tried to sound casual, hoping she would take the hint and offer the job.

"Yeah, I am! Speaking of which, would you like the job?"
She offered, and I immediately said yes.

She showed me the ropes, from greeting customers to cooking food for the cafe. She explained that I wouldn't be working alone and there were other employees. She didn't go into too much detail as she continued.

"Your first day on the job is tomorrow on Monday," She reminded, handing me an employee apron and a few other essential things.

"Thank you for the job." I thanked her, gladly taking the things she handed me.

She let out a wholehearted chuckle, reminding me of how sweet of a lady she was, "Of course hun! You seem like a hard worker and I'm starting to like you already!"

She patted my shoulder and I automatically relaxed at her touch, "I look forward to working with you, honey. See you on Monday."

"SOUTH PARK HIGH SCHOOL"
the letters spelled out, I was currently enrolling into South Park High School online as I sipped on my soda, making sure not to spill some on my bed.

Star hissed at me as I finally finished enrolling, First day on Monday.

It was ironic my first day of school would be the same as my first day at the Hello Kitty cafe, but I didn't mind.

I brought the soda up to my lips to take a sip before I reached over and set it on my bedside table, As I did I thought about how my first day of school was going to go tomorrow.

I've never been a new student, I had been in North Park my whole life and remained even when my family separated and went their ways. However, I've never had many friends. People would come up and talk to me like we were, but they never stuck around enough for friends to develop.

Who knows? I might make real friends here.

I put away my laptop and head over to bed, pulling the covers over should and nuzzling my face into the pillow, whispering a goodnight to Twilight and Star before snoozing off again.
