Sunrise

Light pours in from eastern windows,

I face the dawn,

The coming of a new day,

The freshness of a new morn,

Birds awake as if by some strange magic,

There is hope in the sunflower,

Which rises in the sky,

It is the hope of a new day,

The hope of a day of peace,

It creeps above the gleaming crab apple trees,

And beams downwards,

Across the sleepy kingdom,

Few awake to see its beauty,

The beauty of a well-practiced art,

Those who stir are those of the land,

A rabbit poised upon the hill,

Gazing down as nature comes to life,

All around,

The birds sing their morning song,

Trees sway in the summer breeze,

Creatures of the earth burry themselves deeper,

The vixen returns to her den,

Prey hanging from vicious jaws,

This is nature,

And all of it yours.
