4 - weird van ride

Monday was not a good day.

Chloe had gotten up at 6 AM, and took a cold shower, since the boiler broke down. The advantages of being a broke JYPE trainee.

Then she ran straight to the bus stop after training, having no time to even eat lunch or iron her brand-new school uniform.

Which was all in vain. As she legged her way to the bus stop, she saw the bus, slowly pulling away and its doors closing. She stood, dejected. "Fuck my life," she cursed at her bad luck.

Just as she was thinking of what her next move would be, a small minivan slowly pulled up beside the curb. "Oh hey there!" a young girl with short black hair poked her head out of the window and greeted Chloe.

"Uh, hi?" chloe's instincts were telling her to run away. Why are you talking to a stranger in a van? You're just asking to get kidnapped!

"I noticed your uniform," the girl pointed out, motioning to her bright yellow blazer. "We go to the same school!"

"Oh yeah, so we do..." an unenthusiastic response left Chloe's lips, sounding slightly ruder than she intended.

"I noticed that you just missed the bus," the girl added, ignoring her tone. "Need a ride?"

"Uh, no thanks-"

Another head popped out from behind the girl, loudly exclaiming "Hey! aren't you Mina-chan's roommate?" Chloe's eyes instantly shot to the new face. "How do you know Mina?"

"Oh, she's one of our closest friends! She also helped me learn Korean!" she explained.

"I think she would appreciate us giving you a ride, no?" the first girl added.

With the time being a quarter to four, and knowing the van was almost definitely faster than the bus, Chloe finally relented. "Okay, I guess. I don't want to be late."

"Great, hop in!" And with that, the driver (the second girl) pushed on the gas pedal and drove off.

Meanwhile, The first girl decided that in the six minutes they would be in the car together, they should get to know each other. "So, I think your name is Kyungsoo, right?"

"Uh no, it's Hyunseo."

"Oh, whoopsie! I get confused between names sometimes. I'm Chaeyoung. Son Chae-Young. And this," she motioned towards the driver "Is Minatozaki Sana unnie!" she introduced herself and her friend, making sure to pronounce each syllable clearly.

"Well, uh, nice to meet you both."

"So how long have you been at the agenc-"

"Two weeks. She came from England and is studying at our school in Year 9 and is specialising in vocals." sana quickly replied.

"Ho- how did you know all that?" Chloe exclaimed. "does Mina tell you everything?"

"Oh. No, my other friend told me this."

"Jihyo?"

"Uh no, he's a guy. I think you know him? His name is Chan."

"You know Chan too?"

"Oh yeah, everyone knows Chan. He's pretty popular with the trainees. Especially the older girls," Chaeyoung snickered.

"Oh, please don't remind me of Jaeyon and her cousin," Sana whined. "They were insufferable!"

"Sounds awful," Chloe groaned. Almost like you two, with all the squealing.

"It was! They wouldn't shut up about 'Channie and his curly hair and dimples!!!' ever, they literally followed him everywhere and death stared anyone who spoke to him as if he was their personal property."
