Third-person pov:
The next day, Hoyt contacted Mark for directions to a so-called, "Compound" Penny had just outside the city. The more and more Mark researched, the more dodgy it became. Hoyt was having second thoughts about this. Mark told Hoyt just to go to the location to make sure. Hoyt wasn't in any position to be bargaining anyway. So he went.
Hoyt took a cab. It was about a twenty to thirty minute drive outside of town. So it wasn't that far away.
After the drive, Hoyt got out of the cab and the taxi driver drove off. It was starting to rain a bit, but like always, Hoyt didn't mind. He was too focused to even acknowledge the rain anyway. All he cared about at this point was finding Casswell.
After a couple of seconds of just standing there, Hoyt began to move forward towards the compound. It looked like a stone shack. It was an igloo shape, but it was the size of a house. Hoyt really didn't pay attention to detail though. He really didn't care at all. All he cared about was finding out what was in there.
Hoyt rushed to the door and brought out is suppressed glock. he scrunched his face a bit before slowly putting his hand on the door knob. He slowly and gently opened the door with caution. He readied his gun, prepared for anything, and pecked his head through the door.
Thankfully, there was no one inside. Or, so it looked like it.
Hoyt had his gun pointed just incase. Cause what he learned from when he was in the force, you could never be so sure. He stepped inside and brought out a flashlight. He looked around the quiet, dark, empty room for anyone or anything that could be a threat. He walked further in and Hoyt was on edge EVERY second of it. He was expecting for someone to come up right behind him or something. Pop out of a corner, anything.
Hoyt got to the end of the hall and took cover behind the wall. He swiftly got out of cover and pointed his gun ready for anything. There were no guards. He could proceed to the next hall with ease. But Hoyt was still tense. He was sensing danger nearby.
Hoyt continued to walk as quietly as he could across the hallway. He was cautiously looking around for any threats. To his delight, there were none. He then turned into the other room at the end of the hallway a few seconds later.
He opened the door and stepped inside with his gun pointed, looking around. In there, he saw a computer that showed a map of various hideouts, compounds, and safe houses Penny had around the city. Hoyt approached the computer to inspect it more thoroughly. He put his gun away in his coat and started to tap into the computer. There, it brought up Penny's exact location. He was hiding in his main safe house, which was located in a night club just in the rich side of town.
"Ah-ha! There you are, you little fucker!" Hoyt exclaimed. He then decided to call up Mark. "Mark. I found out where Casswell's hiding. Looks like he has a night club just on the north side of town." Hoyt said.
"Brilliant, Hoyt! This is such good news! Now that we know where he is, we can finally plan the attack!" Mark exclaimed.
"Yeah. And wait. There seems to be-" Hoyt was then cut off by an alarm buzzing and a female robotic voice coming from the speakers. "-SELF-DESTRUCT SEQUENCE IN 10 SECONDS-"
Hoyt's heart sank to his stomach when he heard that. "Oh shit!" Hoyt exclaimed turning around and running at full speed out of the room. He didn't even hear Mark because of the alarm. All Hoyt was focused on was getting out of there before the place could blow him to smithereens.
He ran out of the room, down the halls and busted through the doors to get outside. By then, the whole place blew up as Hoyt ran from it. The blast was big enough to blow him forward. The whole place went up in a cloud of fire.
