"You actually may cut this rehab down to a year." Reese's doctor said, looking at the X-Ray. "I have not seen anything like this in my life."
Sterling smiled at Reese. "So, after the baby is born and she gives her body time to catch up from that, she'll be back out there?"
"Absolutely." The doctor shook his head. "Reese Davis, are you human?"
She laughed, rubbing her stomach. "I'd like to think so."
"Since you're already here, do you wanna do a quick ultrasound?"
Reese shrugged. "Sure."
By this point, Reese was a little over two months pregnant. Her small baby bump wasn't noticeable to anyone except herself, since she spent a lot of time looking at her body.
It was a little anxiety inducing to think about the idea of gaining weight. Considering Reese was just beginning to feel confident and comfortable in her skin, being pregnant was very scary.
"Baby looks really good." The doctor said before frowning. "Are we expecting two babies?"
Reese laughed. "No. I think we're just gonna have this one then make more decisions about that later on."
"I'm picking up two heartbeats."
"Hahaha..." The soccer goalie laughed nervously, beginning to pick up what he was putting down. "You mean two as in... mine and the baby's?"
The doctor chuckled, looking away from the screen. "Nope. Congratulations, Ma'am. It looks like you're having twins."
Sterling pumped his fist, his reaction completely different from Reese's. "YES!"
The soccer goalie pulled up to the training facility with her father, letting the adrenaline carry her inside.
"Bye, Dad!"
Reese probably shouldn't be interrupting the practice seeing as the playoffs started in a few weeks. The Philadelphia Eagles were 13-2 with their only losses coming from the 49ers and Jets.
Despite their good record, Jalen still felt the Eagles had a lot to improve before they entered the postseason.
"Hey, Reese!"
Reese smiled at DeVonta. "Hey."
"Reese's Cup!" Quez yelled. "You walkin' again!"
Coach Sirianni walked over to Reese. "Hey, kiddo! They can never keep you down, can they?"
"Hey, Coach." She greeted. "Hope I'm not interrupting practice."
"Nope. We were all just lingering. Getting ready to head out."
Reese said her hello's to other Eagles players on the way over to Jalen who gave her the straightest face. He told her about unnecessary walking and being out in the cold for too long but obviously she didn't listen.
"You need a spankin'."
She giggled. "You gonna give me one?"
"Not in a way you gon' like." Jalen zipped her jacket. "What you doin' hea'?"
Reese batted her eyelashes, trying to calm him before breaking the news. "Uhh... nothing. The babies were hungry so I decided to stop by on the way to get food."
"Oh, 'aight." Jalen began to put his things in his Nike duffel. "We ca' go eat... Huh?"
She watched him run a large hand down his face before his eyes fell on him once again. "This a joke fa' sho'."
"Nope." Reese watched him shake his head in disbelief at the news. "Doctor picked up two heartbeats."
"Damn."
