"Oh, my gosh!" Reese squealed as Jalen hung the phone up. "He's gonna fucking kill me."

DeAaron wrapped his arm around his fiancée. "Fuck happened ta' you?"

"Jalen heard your voice on the phone and now he thinks something that isn't really what it is and I'm freaking out." She walked around the basement, looking for her wallet and purse.

Fox raised an eyebrow. "He know I'm bouta' get married, right?"

"I thought he did." Reese was out of breath at this point. "Where the fuck is my fucking purse?"

Makayla, DeAaron's fiancée, stood beginning to help Reese locate her purse. "It's alright. Don't stress too much. It's not good for the baby."

"Baby?" DeAaron choked on his water. "What the fuck?"

"Big picture, babe." Makayla said. "Get up and help Reese find her purse."

"Aight. A nigga ain't even do nothin' wrong and y'all snappin' at me."

The story goes something like this.

Reese was sulking, much like she always did when she and Jalen were at odds, when she got a call from Makayla. She and DeAaron were in town for Sacramento's game versus the Sixers.

Makayla curled Reese's hair while DeAaron played the ps5 in the livingroom. Nothing happened but Jalen, of course, wasn't gonna want to hear any of that.

When Reese arrived at Jalen's place, she hurried in, seeing that he wasn't even here yet. He said he was coming from DeVonta's and he didn't live too close to Jalen to begin with.

She sat in the edge of the bed, running her fingers through her hair. Reese tapped her foot as she zoned out, thinking about the worst of possibilities.

Reese took about five minutes before deciding to go home. She was gonna give Jalen time to calm down and talk to him tomorrow.

She made her way downstairs as quickly as she could, making a beeline for the door.

"Open that do' and watch what happen."

Reese's head snapped towards Jalen, who stood at the counter. He was drinking from a water bottle, looking calm and collected much as he often did.

"Jalen." Reese swallowed. "Let me explain myself before you start."

Jalen waved his hand. "I'm past this arguing shit wit' you. Honestly and truly. I know you gon' say he was there for one reason or anotha'. That shit don't matter. That nigga was in yo' crib and that's what it is."

"Jalen. DeAaron is about to get married." She rushed out. "Makayla wanted to come over and hang-"

He smirked softly. "And you was sad? So you said  'Hell yeah. Bring ya' nigga and come on over'."

"I didn't say that."

"It's only so many times I ca' put blame on Nolan or Layla." Jalen said, walking over. "Or, that nigga. In all honesty, you really be doin' this shit and shit just dawned on me."

Reese's shoulders dropped. "Okay, babe-"

He put his hand up. "You wouldn't like that shit, would you?"

"W-What?"

"If I had a female friend and she was at my parent's crib and we was havin' a lil' party and shit after me and you got into it..." Jalen offered an explanation. "Would you like it?"

She sighed. "No."

"So if his lady was there." Jalen slowly approached Reese. "Why the fuck was he tellin' you to come over there? Hm?"
