Two Weeks Later:
King Peter's POV:
It had been two weeks already. Arra's sudden fever had finally subsided, her wounds and bruises healed much faster than excepted. It was a miracle she was alive honestly. I hadn't eaten in four days, my hair was disheveled, and I'm sure I was a day away from going into cardiac arrest. This had been the worst two weeks of my life but, I refuse to rest until she awakens.~
The darkness that had been suffocating my insides was slowly but surely dissipating. I felt lost, almost like I didn't belong, but then there was a bright like before my eyes. A figure was stood in front of me. Slowly they descended from the light and approached me. My eyes were glued to person standing there, I could hardly breathe. "Mother?" I say breathlessly.
"Come Arra, we don't have much time." She says hastily. Her icy hand grabs ahold of mine, a mixture of hot and cold between us. "Mother where are we going?!" I ask while we continue to run into an open abyss. "Just keep running, we don't have time!" She repeats herself scarcely. "Mom please, I don't underst-"~
I stood at the large window that granted me with an sky view of Asmanozia. I looked upon my kingdom with worry on my brain, worry for my people, worry for Arra. I had only met the girl two weeks ago and already I felt protective of her.
My thoughts were interrupted by three sudden knocks. "Jelina, I told you I'm fine. Would you plea-"
"Forgive the intrusion, my Lord, but there are complications upon the palace gates." I was expecting my sister, Jelina, but instead it was my head guard, Gerard. I frowned in confusion, "Complications?" I finally asked.
"Yes, my Lord. A man by the name of Avory Noraden is causing conflict at the gates, sire. He claims to be the brother of the girl." Gerard explains calmly. I jult up giving him my full attention. "Bring him here." I order hastily and without hesitation Gerard bowed before me, and left the room.
Moments later I hear hurried footsteps coming from the halls of the palace causing me to hult from my constant pacing of the floors. Without even a single knock a young man bursted through the golden embroidered doors and immediately our eyes connect. He bows out of respect, after realizing what he had done.
"Forgive me, my King. I am Avory Noraden, son of Melinda Noraden and eldest brother of Arra Noraden." He announces proudly with his arm pressed to his chest. I smiled in amusement. "Welcome and please there is no need to kneel." I say politely, I personally hated people kneeling for me. I was just like everybody else, human, nothing more nothing less.
"You claim to be the brother of Arra yes?" I ask walking over to the side of the bed where Arra's still body lay. She looked at peace... Such beauty in one capacity. She truly was remarkable. "I am in fact, sir. I received a letter just recently from our grandmother, informing me of my sister's disappearance." He states softly as he stands above her bed. His fingers brush against her silk like skin with love. "I traveled as fast as the Gods would take me. When I came across the local market, the villagers informed me that she was brought here, to the palace after being badly injured." He says still looking upon Arra.
I could see the love that Avory had for Arra written all over his face. His love for her was soaked into his skin as he watched his sister, painfully in anticipation. That's the same look I've shared for days.
They had very few similarities about them, physically speaking. But if you had to go on just physical appearance, you wouldn't even guess they were apart of the same bloodline. Arra's skin was a bit of a caramel, and Avory had skin like milk. They both shared the same hair, just different lengths. Same smile. But everything else was completely different.
I could see the courage and bravery in Avory's eyes the moment he burst through the doors. No- sane man would ever dare to come to the palace gates and start a ruckus. I saw that same spark of bravery in Arra the moment I laid eyes on her. "She has a fire to her that's for sure." I commented from across the bed. Avory's eyes snap from his sister's to mine and a slight smile appears on his face.
"You noticed it too? She takes after mother certainly." He states thoughtfully as he looks back at Arra. "How is she?" He finally asked. The question gave me pause, I did not know how I should answer such a question. I took a deep breath before speaking a word. "The healers say that she has suffered internal bleeding and a mild concussion, but that she is the fastest healer they have ever seen. They say it is a miracle she survived." I finish.
I could see humor, anger, and sadness flicker through Avory's eyes. He was hurt. "When we were children she had this peculiar habit of climbing the trees and just hide there for hours. She'd wait until I'd came home and would shoot her arrows at me, they always missed me by an inch or so, though that was the point. To let me know that if it be her will... She could be my demise with one strike of her bow. I eventually started calling her fireball, because of the spark that resides within her."
The room is dead silent as Avory and I sit and watch Arra. Again the door opens without a knock, but with a more gentle approach. "Sister, so you've decided to join us." I greet Jelina with a weary smile. Avory jumps up and bows in respect. "Princess." He says then stands back up waiting for Jelina's approval.
"Please, do sit." She says peacefully and he obeys. "I brought the healers with me to check on the girl." Just then three healers come into the room and scatter around Arra tending to her needs. "Come Avory, we must give them space for now."
"I heard there was trouble at the gates." Jelina says once all three of us are stood outside the door to Arra's room. "Who told you that?" I ask.
"Gerard, of course." She answers solemnly. "Well, yes there was but it was just Avory trying to get to his sister." Jelina analyzes Avory with an intriguing eye. I think she likes him.
"You're Arra's brother?" She finally asked. Avory nods, "I am in fact. Arra and I are only four years separate" he explains diligently. "Well I am truly sorry that we met on such dreadful terms. You are welcomed to stay here until Arra is completely healed. Your room will be prepared for you right next to your sister's."
I can't help but chuckle at Jelina's offer. "Hardly next, it's down the hall. Either way yo-" my sentence was interrupted by Nox, our head and best healer in the palace. "My Lord, it is the girl!" He says hastily.
"What about her?!" Avory asked.
"She has awaken!"
