Evangeline's POV

"Hey mommy!" I hug my mama as soon as she comes in the door.

"Hey cupcake."

"I missed you!" I squeeze her tightly.

"I missed you too, but right now I'm missing air." she gasps.

"I'm sorry, I just missed you." I let her go.

"Where's your daddy?"

"I'm right here. Hey honey." my dad comes out of the kitchen and hugs her.

"Hey, I missed you." my mama kisses his lips.

"I have to go to school. I'll see you when I get off of work." I walk out of the door.

I make my way to school listening to my music. I approach the school and see my friends standing near the school.

"Hey E.V." Pookie hugs me.

"Hey guys. What's up?"

"Nun, bored. Where you been these past few days?" Tay Tay asks.

"I've been hanging with Jayden." I answer.

"It sounds like y'all really like each other." Peanut speaks.

"We really do." I answer.

"Angie told us the time to come by yo job and we'll be there." Peanut tells me.

"Alright." I say as soon as the bell rings.

I go to class and Dominique is sitting in a different seat. I guess he saw Jayden when he came to pick me up. Oh, well, I didn't even like him anyway. All he wants is my cake and his ass ain't getting it. School ends and I head to work.

"Hey E.V." Quinn says.

"Hey, where's Freddy?"

"He has the flu so he probably won't be here all week."

"Aww, I hope he gets better soon." I put my apron on.

"Yeah, me too. Rafael is taking his place this week."

"Lord help us." I sigh.

Rafael is a five foot three, eighteen year old man. He's really funny and nice and he is from the Dominican Republic.

"I heard that chica." Rafael yells.

"Hello and welcome to Belle. I'm Evangeline and I'll be your waitress for today. What would you like to drink?" I take my pad out as I go to a table.

I get their drinks and then take their orders. I work until it's my lunch break, and I see Jayden.

"Hey strawberry." he kisses my cheek.

"Hey teddy."

"Mrs. Waits-Evangeline,Evangeline-Mrs. Waits." Jayden introduces us to each other.

"It's very nice to meet you, Mrs. Waits." I hold my hand out.

"Oh, sugar just call me Delilah." she hugs me.

"Let's sit down." I suggest.

"Jayden tells me all about you. It's so cute. I mean everyday he has something to say about you." Delilah pinches Jayden's cheek.

"¿Ella? Where are you?" I hear Rafael.

"I'm sitting at a table."

"Oh, there you are. My love, my wife, my one and only. How could you leave without telling me?" Rafael gets on his knee and grabs my hand.
