Aria
I hadn't seen Mr. Vic since the very first day he came back. I rubbed my stomach at the thought of his delicious meal.
"What are you thinking about?" Jake asked.
"Hungry," my stomach growled.
"How about I bring you something when I leave work?""No thanks, it'll be late and dad should be here by then."
"Alright," he gave me a quick kiss, "See ya."I followed behind and locked the door then I crept upstairs to the shower. The hot soapy water cascaded down my body, replenishing my beautiful skin.
I heard the sound of the door opening; I twisted the shower knob off and hopped out. "Dad!" I screamed
"Yeah?"
"Any food?!"
"Got you chicken!" He shouted.Great! Anything other than pizza. I threw on whatever I could find and dashed downstairs to my meal. "Thanks dad," I ate without looking up until I was full.
"You were starving," my dad was in awe.
"I was," I admitted.
"I think we both need to learn how to cook," my dad chuckled.
"I think we do," I was in total agreement. "How was work?"
"Same ol'. How was school?" He asked
"Good."
"Where's Jake?"
"Work."
"Well don't you stay up too late. You have tests coming up."
"You're right. Goodnight dad," I tossed the trash away and gave my father a quick kind hug.
"Your hairs wet," my dad acknowledged in a fussy tone.
"Man up," I dared him.I tucked myself into the covers with a yawn, sleep easily finding me.

My eyes fluttered open. I initially was going to stay in bed, but the noise coming from outside made me curious. In the darkness of my room, I fled from my bed to the window on my tiptoes. Mr. Vic's shadow was moving repetitively, shoveling something.
What is he always doing back there? I watched him for what seem like an eternity. I couldn't see but I could make out the outline of his muscles flexing. Mr. Vic was ripped.
After a few minutes, I started to feel the coldness in my room and decided to retreat back to my bed. I thought about what I had just witnessed and felt as if I had stumbled upon something mysterious. I couldn't help but be curious.
I tried to contain myself but I couldn't help it, I decided to confront Mr. Vic to find out what he was doing outside. I cautiously walked through my house and went out the window. Our front door made too much noise. I crept down the pavement to his house, carefully avoiding anything that would make noise as I made my way over to him and asked him the question that had been bothering me.
"Mr.Vic?" I whispered and he turned to me in a panic. "What are you doing? You're always back here doing something."
"Go back to bed. Don't you know how to mind your business?" He spat violently. And this was the first time I had seen him genuinely angry. I thought I had stumbled upon something mysterious and my curiosity only grew. He refused to answer my question and I was about to go back home when I noticed the shining shovel.
I stepped forward, "what are you? Digging for gold?" I bent down and began to claw at the hole.
He snatched me up, "Go home princess. I mean it," he demanded. His eyes began to glow but I snatched away from him. "Tell me what you're digging or I'll just dig it up myself," I protested."I won't tell you again," his eyes glowered. I harshly closed my eyes and took a deep breath. When I opened my eyes, mr. Vic was stepping closer, closing the gap with the shovel still in tow. I was getting nervous, I took a step backward and when he noticed, he stopped. I followed his line of sight to the hole in the ground; that's when I saw a hand. Its few fingers sprawled in the dirt, etching a print.
"Oh my god," I slowly enunciated. I backed away slowly, hanging onto my chest with my breath caught in my throat. I looked up at Mr. Vic, eyes wide with fear."What is this?" I whispered.
"Wait, princess," Mr.Vic began, "I can explain." He hummed a step closer.
"Don't come any closer," I backed away. I was cursing myself. Dammit, I should have never came over here. I should have never gotten out of bed.
"You're a murderer," I quivered.Everything in me was telling me to run. I bolted, but from behind me I could hear him curse. "Fuck. You know I'm going to catch you right?" Mr.Vic called from behind me.
I ran faster, but I knew it was useless. He was faster and he was catching up. I stopped in my tracks, he was right in front of me. I was breathing heavily. He eyed me, and I could see the anger in his eyes."What are you going to do now?" I asked, my voice shaking. He stepped closer, I could feel his breath on my face. "Tell me what you know," he said in a low voice. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.
I backed away. "Not going to do you any good," he warned, "I'll catch you every time. And if you scream, I'll slit your throat and make your dad watch. So how about you just stay still for me. Or don't. I love a good chase."
"Never," I snarled.
A voice came from behind him. It was my dad. I had never been so relieved to see my dad before. He stepped closer and Mr. Vic stepped back. He knew he was caught. My dad looked at me and then at Mr. Vic, "What is going on here?" He asked again.
Mr. Vic sighed and took a deep breath. "I told you already, princess. All of this useless," in a blink, Mr.Vic was in front of my father, looking into his eyes. "Nothing happened tonight. Aria snuck out and I caught her. Nothing happened. Aria snuck out and I caught her," Mr. Vic said into my dad's eyes. My dad's body naturally relaxed and he soon chanted the same words. "Nothing happened." My dad said.
He looked to me, finally snapping out of it, "Get your ass in the house!" He stalked toward me and pulled me by the hand. "Thank you," he tipped his head to Mr. Vic. "It's nothing," his sinister smile was plastered across his face.
"But dad," I argued. "Listen dad!" I writhed trying to get out his grip. "I don't want to hear it!" My dad exclaimed. "Ever since you've started hanging with that boy, you always do crazy things." He dragged me through the door. "Go to bed right now Aria Dawn! I'm not going to say it again."
"You won't even listen to me!" I stomped up the stairs.
"You tell me why you snuck out!"
"He's lying!" I denied.
"Sure as hell didn't look like it. I come downstairs, the side window is wide open, swinging back and forth. Then he says he caught you and you're not dressed up worth a bit. What am I supposed to think?" My dad ranted from the bottom of the stairs.
"You're still supposed to believe me, idiot!" I stormed to my room.
