It's that time of year again, Diva and Divos. Dancers from around the world will be putting their best foot forward for the opportunity to gain a prestigious position at one of Paris' finest dance schools.
For the first year ever, Gabriel Agreste of the famed 'Agreste Ballet Company' has indicated he will be taking a whole new group of dancers to join France's top ballet school, 'Agreste School of Dance'. Rumour has it that Gabriel Agreste (50) is wanting to undergo a makeover with new dancers from the 'Agreste School of Dance' feeding into the main company. The audition process is bound to be rigorous with dancers from here, there and everywhere, fighting to gain one of these incredible positions.
In addition to fresh meat being added into the company, On Point's most recent interview with 'Agreste' Principal dancer, Lila Rossi (20) has confirmed some interesting rumours concerning Paris' ballet royalty, Adrien Agreste (22), the son of company owner, Gabriel Agreste, and late Prima Ballerina, Émilie Agreste.
The established dancer hasn't been on the stage since his mother's passing a year and half ago. However, from what Rossi tells us, this year Agreste jr. will jeté his way back onto centre stage, performing in the far-famed Agreste Company Christmas Gala (performance details yet to be announced).
What has made this cherished ballet dancer return? And after a long year and half out of the spotlight will he still be as captivating as he was before the unfortunate passing of his mother?
I suppose we'll just have to wait and see, but for now I'd like to wish all the dudes and divas out there 'good luck' as they take to the studio floor.
And, in the wise words of Effie Trinket: 'May the odds be ever in your favour.'
