"Kacchan? Are you ready?" Izuku pokes his head into Katsuki's hospital room to see him standing carefully at the foot of his bed, dressed in his normal day clothes.
"Course, nerd. I'm not a slow poke like you." Katsuki smirked as he wheeled his bag towards the door. "Let's get the hell out of here. I hate hospitals." Izuku smiled brightly as both he and Katsuki started to walk down the hallway together, grateful that they would actually be leaving on foot.
It had only been weeks since everything had happened. Katsuki still had knee braces on both his knees, and he limped when he walked, his arm was also still in a cast. The bruise around his neck was finally healed, and he no longer had a bandage around his head. Though he was sporting a new undercut that he hated. Izuku was better off; his feet were out of their casts, and he was able to fully walk around. The only thing he really still had was a cast on his arm as it finished healing.
When they finally made it out the front doors, they were greeted by the smiling faces of Aizawa and Keigo, who they had both gotten close to during their time in the hospital. Both men were standing by the doors of a car, ushering them forward. "Ready to head home, baby birds?"
Izuku smiles. "Yeah. It'll be nice to be back"
"Do you really have to give us dumb nicknames? You overgrown chicken nugget." Katsuki's voice was light and teasing as he rolled his eyes and stepped closer to the car. "And of course we're ready. Can we go now?"
Keigo just laughed as he helped put Izuku's and Katsuki's things in the back of the car. "Yeah, yeah. Let's get going, princess. You've got people waiting."
"WHA-?!"
"Come on, Kacchan." Izuku helped Katsuki climb into the car before he could start yelling at Keigo. Though that didn't stop him from grumbling his disapproval, which in turn only made Izuku laugh.
Despite the joking and yelling from before, the drive itself was quiet. They were all lost in their own thoughts; Izuku and Katsuki were looking out their windows, watching the scenery go by, while Aizawa and Keigo would occasionally glance back, checking on the two boys to make sure nothing seemed wrong.
Izuku's excitement seemed to dim a bit as they finally pulled up to the house. He was fidgeting with his fingers and biting on his lower lip. He wasn't sure what he was going to say to everyone. What if they try to ask what had happened? What if I start to have a panic attack? What if Kacchan has one? What if..
"Oi, nerd!" Katsuki's voice brought him out of his spiral of thoughts. His voice was rough, but it wasn't angry.
Izuku looked over to see Katsuki looking at him in veiled concern. "I'm okay, Kacchan. Sorry."
"You were stuck in your head again."
Izuku chuckled and scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment. "Yeah, I guess I was. Just nerves I think."
Katsuki clicked his tongue but leaned over and grabbed Izuku's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze before letting go. "All those idiot extras in there are family. They've been waiting for us. So don't be nervous."
"Thanks, Kacchan." Izuku smiled and got out of the car once it had come to a stop. He tried to help Katsuki get out, but he had adamantly declared that he could do it alone.
Once they had all of their things, they slowly and carefully made their way inside. It was oddly quiet as they walked through, making further inside. They were just about to ask where everyone was when they had stepped into the common area and the lights turned on, confetti flying everywhere.
"SURPRISE!" Everyone cheered as they all swarmed Izuku and Katsuki, respectfully keeping at least a little distance between them so no one accidentally got knocked over.
