Chapter 9

Continuation of Flashback: (smut warning)

Nik and I step inside, breathless from the emotional high of the garden proposal, surrounded by the lingering fragrance of lilacs that fills the air. The house is bathed in a warm, golden glow from the twinkling fairy lights strung across the ceiling.

"You make every moment feel like an eternity, love" Niklaus proclaims. I turn to him, my eyes shimmering with unshed tears of joy. "I've never been so sure about anything in my life, Nik". Our gazes lock, and we can both feel the love in the air. Niklaus takes my hand, guiding me to the center of the room, where a soft array of candles flickers, illuminating our way.

Niklaus leans close to whispering "Dance with me, love". He swiftly pulls me into his embrace, and we sway gently. Our movements are effortless, synchronized as if we have danced together a thousand times before. I rest my head against Niklaus's chest, feeling the rhythm of his heartbeat. He presses a soft kiss to the crown of my head, inhaling the leftover scent of lilacs. "I'll remember this moment forever," I say. "As will I, my darling" he replies. Our dance continues, knowing that our love is now sealed with the promise of forever.

He pulls me closer to him, kissing me on the neck. "I love you my darling," he says in between kisses. He walks us backward before pushing me gently into the wall. He kisses up my neck, then my jawline, then my hairline. "Nik" I moan. He hums in response. He grips my waist holding me as tight as he can because he never wants to let go.
