You hadn't talked to your boyfriend, Sam Uley, in days. It hurts you more than you care to admit, and you're sure it's hurting him just as much if not more because of the imprint, but you're not about to fold first.
He questioned your loyalty to him simply because you refused to spy on the Cullens for him.
You know that the situation between the Cullens and the pack is volatile at best, but you can't just abandon your sister when she needs you the most.
So, that's where you are now, holed up in the Cullens house while Bella struggles through her far than normal pregnancy.
You watch on as Rosalie helps her into the living room. She reveals her name ideas, and it takes everything in you not to cringe at the horrible ideas.
"It's unique, which certainly fits the situation." You laugh, shaking your head at his endlessly supportive attitude, even when the names are as horrible as Renesmee. "I like Renesmee."
Before your human self can react, Bella is on the floor, her spine having snapped due to the supernatural baby inside her.
Your heart sinks and you follow the vampires and Jacob into the medical room as they prepare to do whatever they can to help Bella. You can do nothing but let Bella grip your hand painfully hard. You return the pressure, watching on in terror.
"Rosalie, pass the morphine," Edward demands. Rosalie does as she's told.
"Carlisle said the placenta must have detached," Alive informs as Edward administers the morphine. "He's coming as fast as he can."
"We'll have to do it," Rosalie says, grabbing a scalpel to cut Bella's stomach open.
"Wait, the morphine has to spread," you say as Edward's hand shoots out to stop Rosalie from doing anything.
"There's no time. He's dying," Rosalie informs. You look at Bella as panic overshadows the pain in her face.
"Get him out now!" she demands. Rosalie starts to cut open Bella's stomach, and you feel some bones in your hand crack due to her grip. You clench your jaw, trying to keep yourself from crying out at the pain.
"Look at me, Bella," Jacob orders, trying to keep Bella centered. The copper smell fills your nose and you look at Rosalie, who's distracted by the blood.
"Rosalie, don't!" Edward shouts. Jacob jumps across the bed and tackles Rosalie, keeping her from pouncing blindly at Bella.
"Rosalie!" Bella whimpers as Alice drags her out of the room.
