Coming Home

I had gone off to collage and majored in the medical field. When I had gotten my master degree I decided to come home.

I hadn't talked to Austin since the day I told him I was leaving. I have never missed anyone more before.

I pulled up into my drive way. I took out my house key unlocked the door and walked inside.

"Mom" I yelled

"Emma?" She said walking in

"I've missed you so much" she exclaimed

"I miss you too" I said

We talked about my collage life for a while. Then I found the courage to go to Austin's house.

"Emma is that you" Austin's mom asked

"Yeah" I said

"You look so different" she said

"Is Austin home?" I asked

"He's upstairs in his room dear. Please try to cheer him up, he's been moody since you left" she said

I walked upstairs to Austin's door. I took a deep breath. Here goes nothing. I opened the door and saw Austin looking out his window into my room.

"Austin" I said

He turned around "Emma what do you want"

"Austin I've missed you so much" I said hugging him. He didn't hug me back.

He pushed me off "Emma I'm not your boyfriend anymore"

"You aren't happy to see me" I said

"Not really. Just seeing you brings back all the memories" he said

"Austin, I love you" I said

"Emma I have a girlfriend" he said coldly

My world shattered around me and my legs felt weak. I tear slipped down my cold cheek. I felt like someone had just shit me in the chest. Everything felt fake and hoped this was just a bad dream.

"Oh" I said smally

"Did you think I'd wait for you" he harshly

"I was hoping" I trailed off

"Well I didn't and wasn't going to" he said

I started to cry harder. Then I turned and walked out.

"I'm sorry" I heard him say well more like a whisper

Austin's POV

It killed me when Emma left. She was everything I ever wanted.

I looked out my window into her room.

"Austin" I heard a voice say behind me one that I recognized as Emma's

"Emma what do you want" I asked turning around

"Austin I've missed you so much" she hugged me. I didn't hug her back.

"Emma I'm not your boyfriend anymore" I said pushing her off

"You aren't happy to see me" she said in a sad tone

"Not really. Just seeing you brings back all the memories" I said. That was a lie.

"Austin, I love you" she said

"Emma I have a girlfriend" that was a lie too but it was the first thing that popped into my head

A tear slid down her cheek and she looked like you had told her, her mom died.
