Sousa and Deke made wonderful new additions to the team as the hours passed. Simmons became Deke's main caretaker and default friend of the puppy, while Sousa followed Daisy around like a lost puppy.

"Shouldn't we do anything about it?" he asked as he followed her to the jet. "SHIELD needs it's defences up against HYDRA before they can do anything!"

Daisy sighed, sitting down at the cockpit. "There's nothing we can do," she said, prepping the jet for take off. "The good news is that almost no one knows, and you got to me in time before I wrote a report on a base that HYDRA can get its hands on. Now I can tell my dad, and we can get the news out to the people we need it to."

"And how do you know those people aren't HYDRA?" Sousa demanded.

"Well, everyone we tell will have an unwavering loyalty to Coulson, first off," Daisy said. "Then we all meet and decide where to go from there."

"That seems like a flawed plan, but okay," Sousa muttered.

"Why are you still here, if you've finished your mission, anyway?" Daisy asked, intrigued. "Go off and graduate. We're not stopping you."

Sousa ran a hand over his face. "Well... it's kind of nice to have a break from school and work right now," he confessed. "My girlfriend broke up with me in January, my dad might have cancer, it's a whole mess."

Daisy didn't really know what to say, so she just sighed and flew into their new hangar.

She decided to commandeer the entire building and have Fitzsimmons and Mack renovate it as they go. They found some bunks and a control room in their searches, though they weren't very sure how low the levels could go. There was a projection of a man named Rick Stoner, a guy from the 70's who commissioned the place for a safe place to go after nuclear war or an alien invasion, apparently.

The two of them parked and walked back to the control room.

"I'm not saying we don't say anything," Daisy was explaining, "I'm just saying that we hold off on the fanfare until we have a sure reason to take them down so SHIELD doesn't get labelled a terrorist organization or something by the world government. We're a private organization, and as much as we are government agents, we can get blacklisted like that." She snapped her fingers. "We need to be careful where we step or else we'll fall off a cliff."

Sousa looked at her with what seemed to be admiration in his eyes. "I see why Grammy told me to pick you."

Daisy grinned. "You call your grandma 'Grammy'?" she teased, going up the stairs. "How adorable."

Sousa flushed. "What do you call your grandma, then?"

"Grandma," Daisy replied. "Like a normal person." She opened the door to a big office. "This is nice." She stuck her head out, narrowly missing Sousa's face. "I call dibs on this one!" she called down.

"Suit yourself," Fitz yelled back. "Simmons and I already took the lab. Deke's with her. And Mack," he added, like an afterthought.

Sousa sat down behind her, a puff of dust rising from the armchair. Daisy looked over at him as he stretched his right leg out- and for the first time, she realized that it was a prosthetic.

He noticed her gaze and where it led to. "Wasn't in my file, was it?" Sousa asked with a faint, strained smile. "You don't happen to have any Ibuprofen, do you?"

Daisy nodded. "I can grab some from the med kit. Do you need water with it?" she asked from the doorway.

"If you have some, then please," Sousa replied. "But if not, it's fine."
