Time skip to Separate Tides.

It's been a week and a half since the petrifaction ceremony. Sadly Eda couldn't use her magic anymore, and now Lilith lived with us. Yeah I didn't feel safe. I sat outside holding a light glif. Luz taught me how to use it, i tapped it and a light appeared! "Woah" I smiled in amazment "this is Y/N, she's a human too! Her parents left her with Eda and she's stayed here ever since" I heard Luz say. I turned to see a camera in her hands "Luz? What are you doing?" I asked "recording a video for my mom" she grinned "okay then? Also I'm half human." I said as I went back to my Glifs.

A few minutes later we went to the market cash in the bountys we got. Once we arrived I walked off, I turned a corner and saw a poster of what used to be Lilith was now on fire! "Titain!" I yelled in shock. Then a poster of the Golden Guard was put up over Liliths burnt poster."oh great." I said sarcasticly. I hadn't seen him ever since the whole convention incident. Hopefully he's forgotten about it! "Y/N!" I turned around to see Luz running at me full speed! I dodged out of the way and grabbed her arm before she crashed into someone "Woah Woah Woah! What's up?" I asked "listen, there's a selkidomus hunt happening and I'm thinking we join" she smiled "what!?!" I asked "listen. Eda needs the money and thanks to me she can't even afford her apple blood." She said sadly. I thought for a while "Fine. Let's just get it over with" I said as we walked towards the boat. Luz slammed the poster Infront of the captain "the Selkidomus hunt. We want in." Luz said to the guy "think you can handle this squirt" The captain asked "oh trust me we can." I said to him. He handed us our uniforms and we went on bord the ship. We were doing this. FOR EDA!

We stood on the boat and looked at the ocean "when we defeated the Selkidomus and get a boatload of snails, Eda won't have to worry about money for a long time" Luz smiled at us "King want a cracker!" King smiled "All hands!" The Captain yelled. We all walked over "all right crew. The Selkidomus has been ravaging the coastline. It was last seen in the simmering shoals. You know the drill. Snag the quarry, get the money galore-y. We all do the work we all get a cut." The Captain announced to us. "till then. Keep everything ship shape. This ain't no pressure cruise!" He continued as he threw a broom at Luz, I caught it and I looked the Captain dead in the eyes with a slight glare. "Don't be a burden Sea Squirt." The Captain glared at Luz and I. Luz grabbed the broom from my hands "oh you don't have to worry about me." Luz mumbled.

After a while Luz began to do all the jobs. I even asked if she wanted me to help but she kept insisting she did it herself! By the end of it Salty was really happy with her. Me and King watch from the side as she was trying to get a giant bug thing off her back. I laughed slightly as she threw it off. "Well. Ye had me confront my own biases. And I got nothing but respect for you now squirt- I mean sailor" Salty smiled "thanks Salty, you made us feel like a real part of the crew" Luz smiled "that's because you arrrr!" Salty smiled suddenly the ship shook violently and king fell through a door! "King!" I yelled as I ran through the door.

I got into the room and turns out it was the captain's room. "You okay?" I asked King "Cracker!" He smiled as he saw the box on the table "take one and let's go" I said. King ran over and grabbed one. The I noticed a letter "what's this?" I asked as I picked it up. Then I saw the seal on the letter. "The emperor's sigle? Why in the world is Salty getting letters from the emperor?" I asked. Then King turned up the lights. We were on the Emporers ship! "Oh my Titain! King we need to tell Luz!" I yelled in panic. Then I noticed king wasn't next to me anymore "king?" I called. "Where did he go!?! You know what it doesn't matter I need to tell Luz." I said as I turned, only to be faced with a familiar golden mask. "unfortunately you won't have the chance." He said. "Hi" I said awkwardly as I backed away "you're not still mad about the whole Convention situation are you?" I asked nervously "Yes. Yes I am." He said to me. "Oh great. Wait where's King?" I asked "he's here." He said as he showed me a bird cage with King inside! "King! Well I'm not going down without a fight GoldieLocks!" I yelled as I grabbed the thing closest to me, "you're going to defeat me with a cracker box?" He asked. I threw it at his head "seriously?" He asked as he looked down at the box. I then grabbed a very heavy book and whacked over his head causing him to let go of Kings cage and to clutch his head. "OW! WHAT THE-" then I grabbed king and ran towards the door! Only for him to grab my arm and pull me away! He threw me into a bookshelf and snatched king "nice try Human." He said in a very smug voice. Suddenly I was surrounded in this weird yellow bubble "what is this!?!" I yelled "just a prison. Get comfortable human. Because you'll be in that for a while" he said. Oh this was perfect. And yes that was sarcasm.

After a while the ship went quiet. "Let's go." The Golden Guard said as we began to move "where are wE going?" I asked suspiciously "boiling sea. I've got some criminals to catch" he smirked as he jumped into the ocean! I closed my eyes but quickly opened them when I realized we had a protection spell over us. After a few seconds we emerged onto the shore. "hello criminals what's about to happen to be relatively painless if you do what I say" he smirked "and why would we do that?" Luz asked "because none of you can use real magic" he shrugged "you don't know that!" Eda yelled "also Y/N!?!" Luz yelled "hi thanks for noticing I was missing by the way! Also you two do realise your standing on a plant that eats flesh right?" I asked. Then they realized and immediately jumped away from the plant. I rolled my eyes but heard the Gaurd laughing. I looked at him and he quickly stopped. "Ok the human will remain a sailor to pay back all the money she lost, the owl lady will be arrested again for attacking one the emperor ships, and the other human will be arrested as well and they know why" he said "the Emporers ship?" Luz asked "they're the only ones worth robbing. Why are you guys hunting the Selkidomus? It's a peaceful creature peaceful creature and your provoking it!" Eda yelled "the emperor ordered me to slay one, I'm just following orders." He Shrugged "what I'm just going to smack you around a bit!" Eda yelled, then she began to fight him but lost very easily. Then Luz trying to fight him as well but had a similar outcome. "How about" then my prison moved over to him "I leave your friend here dangling over the boiling sea!" He yelled then my prison was moved over towards the boiling sea! I looked down at the water in slight fear. "Around these parts even the steam is enough to cause third degree burns" he said as Eda and Luz watched in fear. Then I was moved away from the sea "but I don't have to be that mean. No one will have to be a sailor or get arrested if one of you follows those Selkidomus tracks and slays the beast. Here I'll help!" Then he created a sword and dropped it in front of Luz and Eda. The two looked at Goldie "you're making this difficult. go or drown the girl and the bird." He said as he revealed king. Then Luz grabbed the sword and left with Eda running after her.

We sat in silence, I hated this. Well if I was going to be stuck here may as well make it horrible for him as well. "Soooo...you said you were still mad about the whole convention thing" I Shrugged "yes." He replied coldly "aww so you were thinking of me" I smirked "what?" He asked "missed you to Goldie" I smirked "don't call me that. He replied "alright GoldieLocks" I smiled "shut it." He replied "nah" I shrugged "I could kill you right now you know that right?" He said as he turned to me "yep but I don't care" I shrugged "you're unbearable" he mumbled angrily "thanks I think you suck as well" I smiled then we heard something from the cave. We looked in to see Luz dragging out what looked like the Selkidomus. "Ew! Something smells awful! why you touching it with your hands!?! gross!" Goldie yelled "your gross now give me back my friends!" Luz yelled "actually ones annoying and the other one smells bad too. take them!" He said as I was released and thrown at Luz. I caught king and Glared at him. "Thank you for your service, you can find your own way home. I'm trying to stay out of trouble the emperor is not a merciful man. BYEEEEEEEE!" And with that he was gone. "I hate him." I said angrily "you ande both." Luz replied, then we looked into the cave to see Eda was drawing a glif! And the Selkidomus wasn't real! Luz had made a fake one! She's smart. Then we saw the real Selkidomus and it's baby walk forward. And it gave us something amazing. SELKIGRIS! WE DIDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MONEY ANYMORE! Perhaps today wasn't all bad after all.
