MK loved his family dearly. They're all he's ever known, after all.

But he often wondered what his original family could've been like. Did he have a mother that would have tied his shoelaces for him? Or a father that would've taken him to swim each summer? Was there a grandmother that would've spoiled him rotten with sweet treats?

He loved Pigsy, and he loved Tang. They were the ones that watched him grow up. Pigsy tied his shoes and took him to swim during the hot days. And Tang was the one who'd spoil him with candies and small goodies in his pockets. But it wasn't the same.

MK knew they loved him, and he knew they cared about him.

But he knew nothing of his biological family. Did they not want him? Were they unable to care for him? Did they love him dearly, but not care enough to stay?

It was odd, MK thought of these people despite how they were never present in his life. Pigsy and Tang were, as was Mei. She was his sister, blood related or not. She stood up for him, teased him, comforted him, and play-fought with him. Mei was family.

Did he have some siblings out there, too?

Were they half-siblings? Step siblings? Just siblings? Maybe they were jerks, or maybe they were just kids. Like him.

MK knew, logically, he didn't need his biological family. He had his own, and they cared for him and were drowning with love for him. And MK adored them to pieces. They were his everything, filling up his day through their highs and lows.

But it was hard not to think about the blank faces he would most likely never meet. Voices he'd never hear. Warm embraces he'll never feel. Sweet words he will never hold close to his heart.

Was he not...wanted enough? Did they love him, but never bothered to care enough? Was he not enough?

It didn't matter. He had his own family, one that loved him no matter what. And that was all that mattered, he didn't care about people who never bothered being there for him.

He cared.
