Lightly edited cuz too tried. Will do it later. Also, this is based on smth I read

I peeked over. Moon was talking to Winter.
"Do you want to try this new cafe across the street?" she asked, smiling.

"Uh... sure," Winter responded blankly. Moon seemed happy with this answer and skipped away. The rest of the day, I couldn't focus. Why was Moon going to the cafe with Winter? Are they old friends? No, I've never seen them together before. And they don't have any projects together. Does Moon like Winter?!

"Qibli? Qibli! Earth to Qibli!?" Onyx waved her hand in my face.

"Hmm?"

"You zoned out. Teacher has been calling your name for five minutes."

"Oh..."

"Qibli you will be partners with Moon for this project."

Doing a project with Moon!?
I glanced at her. Moon smiled and waved. I beamed. Maybe I have a chance. Onyx elbowed me, "Stop grinning. You look like an idiot."

Luckily, that was the last class.

"Do you want to come over tomorrow to work on the project?"

"Sure!" Moon agreed and walked away, leading Winter to the cafe. My smile faded.

"Hey, you look like you need some cheering up!" Ostrich said, grabbing my wrist. "Come on, Onyx!"

"I'll pass. Hope you feel better."

"Your loss!" Ostrich yelled, dragging me into a new coffee shop.

"Three milkshakes!" she declared.
I recognize her...

"Coming right up! Go take a seat!" Sunny said cheerfully.

Ostrich pulled me into a booth.
Isn't that...? It so happened that Ostrich had taken me to the same shop Moon had mentioned. And this booth gave a full view of their table.

Ostrich started rambling about school or something, I wasn't paying much attention to her.

Winter stood up with an unhappy expression and stormed off. Moon looked down at her lap. Unfortunately, I couldn't hear their conversation, still, her body language told me enough.

"Are you even listening!?" Ostrich demanded.

"Huh? Yeah, excuse me for a sec."

"Huh!?"

I got up and walked to Moon's table.
"Hey-"

"Ahh! Oh, Qibli, sorry," she muttered, her pretty green eyes were a tad swollen and her lap and hands were wet.

"Do you want to come over to our booth? Ostrich ordered an extra drink."

"Are you sure? I-I don't want to bother you," she sniffled a little bit as she spoke.

"Don't worry. Come on!"

"Ok."

I waved at Ostrich who waved back with a milkshake in hand. We both sit down. I passed the extra drink to Moon. She took it, her fingers brushed my hand. Her soft skin against mine felt nice.

"Interesting..." Ostrich mumbled, slurping the remainder of her milkshake. I gave her a confused look. She wiggled her eyebrows and gestured at Moon, who thankfully was lost in thought and didn't notice us.

We finished our drinks and went to the arcade.

The next day, I ran into Winter.
"Hey!" I yelled. I needed some answers from him. He ignored me. What a stone-cold bastard!
(I don't like this part but it's needed for the story. I think)
