The vast galactic space was filled with networks of air tunnels. Mustelids of all species were seen dashing through them. Some were dodging flurries of comets, others used their Elemental Powers to make them explode.
A light-brown weasel with a white underbelly was dashing through one of the tunnels, causing explosion after explosion.
That handsome fella was me.
My name is Wyatt. And I am a Cosmic Warrior of Weasel Planet.
I was soaring through the galactic space with other weasel Cosmic Warriors: my best friend, Jaden, sister Wendy, and brother Wayne.
The thousands of mustelids that darted around us were Cosmic Warriors of their own planets—otters, ferrets, stoats, badgers....we were all in our routine Cosmic Battle Session, darting from one galactic obstacle to another. We exercised our Elemental Powers by making the obstacles explode, transform, or dissolve.
Sometimes we would summon our own obstacles—our Elemental Powers also enabled us to materialize trees, rocks, tables, chairs, machetes, sledgehammers, bombs, anything to crash against all the asteroids and planetary chunks that came flying at us.
This was what we did to generate Elemental Stardust. The more our bodies inhaled dust from the many galactic obstacles we destroyed, the stronger our bodies became at converting all that dust into Elemental Stardust—the very ingredient our fellow mustelids needed to breathe, in order to keep their own Elemental Powers strengthened.
Our lithe bodies were seen dashing through the networks of air tunnels in the black, galactic space, dodging various asteroids, balls of fire, explosions of dust. Oftentimes we were seen doing strange slithery dances—a popular move to cause the obstacles around us to materialize, explode, or shapeshift into something new.
I was among the best of the best, making the most progress in this Cosmic Battle Session. I dashed through a white air tunnel, inhaling all sorts of dust as I caused objects to burst around me. I had my triumphant smirk, Wendy had her cool, confident smile, Wayne had his daring big-boy grin. And my good pal Jaden had his blunt, expressionless gaze as he summoned a bunch of giant hammers, mallets, wrenches, tools of all sorts to counter the asteroids and galactic bodies that flew his way. While many of us were sending rainstorms, blizzards, firestorms, and environmental disasters of all sorts to counter the galactic obstacles, Jaden preferred to summon a bunch of nifty tools and gadgets.
I will admit, however...although I was among the best, I was not the best. That title went to a blackfooted ferret named Jedidiah, the oldest, longest-living mustelid. I caught a glimpse of him as I slowed to a halt— the old ferret didn't have to move much to cause a multitude of blizzards, fiery explosions, and comet showers all at the same time. And when he did move, he was a blur, darting in haphazard directions around all the galactic obstacles.
I gave a huff, shaking my head and dashing forward with a determined smile. Someday I'll be an even stronger Cosmic Warrior than Jedidiah! I ignored the slight urge to wince at such a grandiose thought.
Finally, our Cosmic Battle Session was over. We were all satisfied with the amount of ingredients we inhaled, as we were now able to feel the Elemental Stardust forming in our bloodstream.
It was time to head back to the Mustelid Planets and share this awesome Stardust.
So our lithe bodies soared through a huge air tunnel, heading toward the Heart of the Mustelid Galaxy.
Something easy to remember—our Mustelid Galaxy is shaped like a horizontal body of a mustelid. The Heart of the Galaxy was the only place where life forms existed—the only life forms being us mustelids (our Elemental Powers could summon almost anything except life forms).
We created more networks of air tunnels as we ventured our way through the galaxy. Every so often, we created black holes to speed things up— jumping into black holes and coming out of white holes at various portions of the galaxy was a much faster way of traveling; however, we had to be careful about using this method too often, as it could wear down the body and defeat the purpose of engaging in these Cosmic Battle Sessions.
As I soared through the air tunnels that led to the Heart of the Galaxy, I saw the numerous Mustelid Planets, each home to a species of mustelid. There was a planet for the weasels. A planet for the otters. A planet for the ferrets, a planet for the polecats, the badgers, the stoats, the grisons, the wolverines, and so on.
The minks, however, lived on the tiny moons that surrounded each planet.
All Mustelid Planets were seen in a vertical circle around a cluster of three bright spheres— the TrioStars.
As we coursed through the air tunnels that led toward our homes, we passed by some floating bodies—a stoat, a mink, and a badger hovered by. Their eyes were completely whitened. They floated around, staring ahead like brain-dead zombies.
I gazed at them, an ominous feeling sweeping through me.
