I placed Israel in his car seat, and got myself settled. Before driving off I messaged my therapist who is also a close friend to inform her of my last minute 'appointment.'
Even as a Doctor my self, I still need therapy, cause I too am human with very much human problems.
I exited down the highway and towards her home.
We've been friends for a while now, I knew her first as a therapist before a friend and ever since then we've been so close with each other she's like a sister.
After an hour drive I made it to her place, She had messaged me earlier to say that the door was open for me, so I grabbed Issy in his carrier and went inside.
I met her husband Eric in the kitchen greeting him there briefly, then into her sanctuary.
We met each other at her door, I put Issy down and we were hugging all excited then both sat down.
"So how have you been girl" she asked concerned. It's been like forever since you last came to see me" she said.
"Girl it's only been 2 months, since you came to visit me post labour" I said trying ease the situation.
"Lola, you know I can only ever go a few days without ever speaking to my friends, but since you did give birth, you're exempt."
"Thank you for understanding" I said jokingly.
"But like for real what's going on?" She asked.
The room became eerie, and I swear I felt the oxygen thin out around me."A lot has happened, you know with the whole new parenting thing but yesterday was a real slap in the face" I deeply exhale a breathe.
Josie's whole demeanour began to change as she leaned in further anticipating on my next sentence.
"Okay so boom, since I found out I was pregnant with Israel, like what eight months ago." I think I was 3 months pregnant, calculating the maths to myself.
"I had suspicions on Ebenezar and another woman. I lightly question him about it and he denied it then. I believed him, but I had a knot in my stomach the whole time.
I began to reminisce that exact moment.

I checked my phone and it was 3:54pm on a Friday, I awoke to my clothes drenched with sweat from my 4 hour nap. I'd been on bed rest as ordered by my doctors for 2 weeks because I had developed preeclampsia due to stress and also being on my 2nd trimester.
I found out a month ago I was 3 months pregnant with our first baby, a boy and I was working nonstop unknowingly. My dula was off for the weekend and I had nothing to do and no one to entertain me since Ebe was at work.
'I miss my man' the words escaped my mouth to nobody. Going against my doctor's orders I decided to pay my husband a surprise visit and bring
his favourite food since he's been working late these past few weeks.I went downstairs and made his comfort dish Jollof rice with chilli sauce, matoke and fried plantain as sides and dished them in lunchboxes. I took a shower and dressed in a pink maxi dress revealing my baby bump. It got so big after a month of finding out.
I had called our chafer Brihan earlier to pick me up at 6:00pm. Ebe insisted that I stopped driving myself and hired and private driver when he was unable to. As expected, he was already parked up outside and on time. He helped me inside the vehicle and we left.
