It was the last day of the week, I had returned from work and was on my way home.
The company has been keeping me occupied in diverting my focus away from my marital problems .
But once I was home I was reminded of how much issues I created.
An empty house, no wife and no child. Just me alone and my thoughts.
This evening, the guys invited me to hang out, I wasn't up for it. Instead I decided to go for a long drive to clear my head before I went home
Speeding 210km in a 120km zone highway, I began reminiscing about old times. From us finding out we were pregnant, our wedding, the engagement, our first date...

Knock, knock, knock
My knuckles, hit against the hard, mahogany door. I stepped back, waiting for someone to open it.
"How may I help you young man"? an intimidating older man answered, allowing a crack of the door open, revealing only his face while frowning his eyebrows at me.
Struggling to swollow the lump in my throat. "I'm here to pick up Lola.., Lolana". I corrected. The adress she sent led me to this house" I answered lowly, looking past his intimidating face and at the house.
"I'm sorry son, there's no Lolana or Lola, as you say that lives here" the man responded.
"You must be greatly mistaken" he added
"Sir I don't understand, I'm pretty sure this is the correct house" I stated in confusion.
"Are you questioning me on something I already know son". he said now exiting through the door, now onto the door step, causing the me to step backwards almost tripping.
" no sir, I mean I'm sorr.." I was interrupted by an older lady coming out the door
"Eric, cut it out and stop bullying this poor boy" she said while hitting him on his shoulders. This is Lolana's date, Ebenezar" I she assured him.
"I know, Susie, I was just messing with him" Like you kids call it nowadays." He continued to laugh while making his way back inside.
"Sorry sweetie" she apologised, "My husband is convinced he's the joker, please don't mind him." She added while reaching in to hug me.
"It's no problem really" I replied back, exhaling a breath of relief. Lola truly embodied her mother, replicating almost all her features.
Her small frame, thick 4c hair and deep melanin complexion, and contoured diamond face.
She looked back up the stairs inside the house, calling out Lola's name, and back outside.
"She'll be out shortly, was there anything I could bring for you from inside. Some water, snacks or anything?"She sweetly suggested to keep me occupied.
"No I think I'll be fine thank you" kindly declining her offer.
"Ok then sweet heart, oh I think I can hear her coming down the stairs"
Tightening up my loose tie. I looked up and there she was Lolana. She was now standing within the door frame, with our gazes remaining fixed onto each other. She was beautiful, like an elegant black swan.
She wore a simple form fitting suede red dress, accentuating her curves, including the little stomach she had, which I found oddly sexy on her. She had on a light touch of makeup, enough to enhance her already beautiful face. And a wine red lipstick, over her rather small but plumb lips, to complement her dress.
