You were running through the hallways, ignoring the posh looks from the noble members of the court who disapproved of your behaviour. You couldn't care less.
Just minutes ago you were calmly walking outside when you heard loud laughter and went to check it out.
There was Thor, with his friends, laughing...
You casually asked what happened and you immediately got an entire rapport over how the villainous Frostgiant was defeated during sparring once more. And how eventually he begged for them to stop. What a coward.
You had felt the floor drain from your face and you had turned around to run inside.
That's where you were now, running towards his chambers.
---↓↓↓---
After everything that had happened you had become close friends to Loki. He made you feel warm ironically enough, and he always said you were his Light.
You were one of the few who believed him when he told about how Thanos had invaded his mind and used physical torture to break him. Luckily most of the court eventually believed him and he was simply put under house arrest to be safe. If he would behave well he would be released again.
That "behaving well" was difficult since everyone tried to blame everything on him. Even when he would just stay in his room all week he would still be blamed for stealing from the kitchens, or tripping someone during training.
People tried to provoke him daily, they would shun him and harm him, taking it that he would never be believed as god of lies.
The main problem? He probably would be believed, but he refused to press charges. He thought that if he just let them... It would all pass.
And now this...
---↑↑↑---
You were pretty sure he just had a panick attack. Loki would never beg during sparring. Besides, his magic had become sickingly powerful. If he truly wanted to win he could just kick his opponent's ass.
You knocked on his door and didn't even wait for an answer before opening it and walking in.
"Loki?" You called his name softly and gasped when you saw him sitting on his reading chair by the fire.
---↓↓↓---
You loved that chair. You always sat on the soft rug, leaning against his legs as he read.

You walked forward and gently pried his hands away from where they were clutching his bleeding leg. He had already healed most of it, but it was clear why he couldn't heal it completely, there was still a piece of metal stuck inside.
"Hold still, I have to pull it out. And that will hurt a lot." You said calmly before moving his leg so you could get a better grip on the metal.
You pulled it put quickly and green sparks immediately started to knit it close. Good. That was... Good.
But... "Loki." He wasn't making a sound.
You sighed and crawled on his lap. You rested his head against your shoulder and brushed through his hair as you hummed a soft tune.
You tried to guide him out of the darkness he had fallen into.
Slowly but surely you felt him relax under you and you smiled softly when his eyes finally seemed to spark again and looked straight at you.
"Hello there." You whispered and he looked so sad you couldn't hello but kiss his cheek. "It will all be alright." You added.
He kept looking at you before resting his head on your shoulder again and sighing. "Thank you." He whispered, his warm breath tickling your neck. "Thank you so much."
You gently turned his head to look at you again and smiled. "Always, my handsome prince." You said before turning a bit serious. "What triggered it?" You ask carefully.
He swallows thickly before answering so soft you had to strain to hear him. "A combination of things... I was fighting with Hogun. But when I came close to defeating him Fandrall joined the fight. I could easily defeat them both but... Then Sif joined... And eventually Thor did as well...
He thought it was funny. They all did. They were laughing while I tried to fight them all off and..." He fell silent. But no more was needed to be said.
---↓↓↓---
Nights in darkness, huddled close together with just a candle to light their faces.
"They would laugh... Attack me while I hadn't been fed in weeks... When I just had a whipping and could barely stand.
They would force a dagger in my hands and attack me with a few dozen.
And they would laugh... Echoing through the empty caves while I begged them to stop."
---↑↑↑---
You held him as emotions became too much and it wasn't until many hours later that you spoke again.
"You should talk to Frigga." You whispered and red, puffy, eyes looked at you with a hint of fear hidden in the emerald green.
---↓↓↓---
"Why won't you talk to her?"
"I can't see the disgust in her eyes... I can't."
"But she loves you..."
"Exactly."
---↑↑↑---
After a long silence he nodded slowly. "Perhaps... It can hardly get any worse." He whispered almost defeated and that's when you realised truly how strong he was. After everything. After all that pain... And he still didn't give up. Not completely. Not totally. He was still fighting.
