"And you didn't think to tell us?" Rhonda asked, raising her voice at Wally. "Charley and I were Maddie's friends too."
"She made me promise not to tell anyone." Wally replied causing Rhonda and Charley to feel hurt that their friend didn't tell them.
"Why would Maddie only want you to know?" Rhonda asked raising her eyebrows in confusion.
"Unless they were dating?" Charley asked out loud, causing Rhonda's eyes to widen. "Oh my god...Wally, did you and Maddie ever have sex?" She asked him, causing his face to turn red.
"Can ghosts get pregnant?" Rhonda asked
Charley and Wally looked at Rhonda in confusion before she left the gym with the two boys following behind her.
"Rhonda, where are we going?" Charley asked.
She stopped in her tracks, which caused the boys to stop as well. Rhonda turned around, looking at them.
"To find Wally's daughter." She said with a small smile before turning back around and continued to walk with the boys following behind her.
"We don't know that she's my daughter." Wally commented before he and Rhonda started to argue if Hope was his daughter or not.
-
Hope Nears sat next to her childhood best friend Ava Baxter in English class. Sitting right behind them was James Parker and Henry Bennett.
James and Henry were childhood best friends who grew up in the same neighborhood. Their houses were across from one another.
For years, the four teenagers have always gone to school together.
Since seventh grade, Ava and Henry have been trying to set Hope and James up but their best friends always failed at setting them up.
Ava knew that Hope liked James and Henry knew that James liked Hope, but neither Hope or James would admit it...yet.
-
"There she is." Hope heard Rhonda say.
She turned her head to the side and saw Rhonda, Charley and Wally looking at her though the open classroom door. Hope wasn't listening to the teacher anymore, she was listening to the three ghosts who were spying on her.
'Why are they following me?' She thought to herself, not taking her eyes off them.
"Hope?" Someone asked. She didn't hear the person till they raised their voice at her.
"Huh?" The teenager asked, looking in the direction of the voice.
When Hope looked in the direction of the voice, she saw her teacher. And when she realized it was her teacher who was calling her, she felt embarrassed.
"Sorry." She apologized.
-
The bell rang.
Class was over.
Hope ran out of class, going straight to Rhonda, Charley and Wally to see why they were following her.
"Why are you guys following me?"
Rhonda was about to answer Hope's question, when Ava came out of the classroom looking at her best friend worriedly. "Hey. Are you okay?"
She turned around, looking at Ava. "Yeah, I'm great."
"Oh, that's good. I thought you were going to have one of your freak out moments." Ava replied with a smile.
"I don't freak out." Hope replied.
"Yeah you do." Henry butted into their conversation with James by his side.
Ava lightly hit Henry's shoulder. "Ow."
"I barely hit you."
"Can we please change the subject?" Hope asked her friends.
"How about we skip?" James asked the group.
"No. We are not skipping. It's the first day of school."
"Speak for yourself Nears." James said with a smirk.
"You do realize you don't have a car. How are you going to get home?" Hope said with a smug smile on her face.
"Shit."
"I can show you a place where no one will bother you. Come with me." Hope said to James.
The four friends said their goodbyes then Ava and Henry went to class while Hope went to show James the place she was talking about.
What Hope and James didn't know was that Rhonda, Charley, and Wally were following them.
