"I'm going to check on, Mikey." Donnie said as he stood up, "I'm coming with ya." Raph followed.

The two turtles enter the lab and spot their younger brother asleep, "how is he?" Raph went and sat at the stool next to the bed, holding Mikey's hand and scanning the youngest's features.
Donnie walked to the computers, "well his vitals are definitely getting better, his heart rate has settled nicely. Surely he'll wake up soon." Donnie gave Raph a toothy smile before taking out a needle and lining it up to Mikey's arm, "the hell are ya doin'?" Raph asked, his emerald eyes widened slightly, "I need to see how his blood cells look. To see if his white blood cells are fighting off whatever is happening in his blood stream." Donnie explained and examined the blood.
"So?" Raph raised a brow
"Give me a chance, Raph." Donnie focused the lenses, "it's safe to say that whatever this is, is not a virus." Donnie sighed, stress evident in his voice, "it might be a deadly disease." Donnie rubbed his eyes.
"What's the difference?" Raph asked.
Donnie gave Raph and 'really?' Glance, "viruses can kill blood cells. When a blood cell dies unwanted toxins to go through the blood stream and soon kill the victim. However disease is more to the physical body. For example heart disease. It's to the muscle and function of the heart, not the actual blood itself. Do you understand?" Donnie tried to explain easily.
"I think I do?"

Donnie rolled his eyes, "can you check the side of Mikey's shell? See how it is doing?" Donnie asked.
"Huh? What do you mean? Mikey's shell wasn't injured when we found it." Raph looked at Mikey's shell which was plastered and covered, "you are correct. That is because I did surgery on him." Donnie sat down, "YOU DID WHAT?!" Raph shouted.

Leo was currently asleep on the sofa, snoring softly until he heard a loud shout from Raph. His eyes snap open and he looks around, he noticed his brothers aren't next to him anymore and turned towards the lab where a stream of light leaked into the main area. Leo turned off the TV and rushed to the lab, "guys? What's happening?" Leo opened the door wider so he could enter.
"Donnie did surgery on Mikey behind our backs!" Raph shouted, pointing an accusing finger at Donnie who held his hands up defensively.
Leo's eyes widen, "what?! Why?" Leo asked.

"Look, I did an X-ray on him and found something in his lungs. If I hadn't gotten them out of his lungs he would've died." Donnie tried to explain. Leo narrowed his eyes, "Donnie. What was in his lungs?" Leo tilted his head.
Donnie gulped and backed away before taking out a bag and revealing flowers that were 6ft with overgrown roots and blood covered thorns, Leo's and Raph's eyes widen. "Flowers? Flowers were in his lungs?" Raph asked in disbelief.
"Not just any Flower, they are Nerium flowers." Donnie gulped.
"You found Nerium flowers in his lungs?" Raph gave Donnie a questionable look.
"I have so many questions..." Leo rubbed his head.

"I know it all seems confusing but I have been doing some research. And so far, there is only one thing popping up." Donnie opened his laptop.
Leo and Raph spared each other a glance before going up to Donnie and looking at the laptop.

"The Hanahaki disease."
