Whole night, she kept on waking up in between her sleep, her dreaded thoughts taking over her dreams.
When the day light spewed through the window, her eye lids disclosed, revealing her amber eyes, which came in contact with the ceiling.
Her mind was blank.
No thoughts, nothing.
But there was that weird feeling in her heart.
Her eyes restlessly moved to and fro when the occurings of last night find their way to her brain.
That basement.
Murder.
Moosa.
Wedding.
Everything came crumbling down on her. She sat up, threading her hands in her locks with worry.
She got off of her bed and was about to leave her room when the door handle turned down as someone was opening it from the other side.
Dread crawled her senses, thinking it might be Moosa. She hurriedly pulled the door back, when it was half way through opening and turned the lock, not even seeing who was on the other side of door.
The door knocked and she took a few steps back, looking at the door as if it was some ghost, her eyes widening to their maximum capacity.
"Ma'am?"
It was a maid.
She sighed in relief.
"Yes?" she asked, still not opening the door but she moved closer.
"Please open the door," she said, politely and she turned the lock, opening the door, letting the maid in.
"Ma'am sir has asked for you to join the breakfast table," the maid informed.
She blinked with confusion but nevertheless, she gave her a nod of affirmation and the maid left.
Her eyes moving to the clock it was 9 in the morning.
It was the first time, he had asked her to join the table. And clearly, she wasn't feeling good about it.
She decided to confront the whole situation to Alizeh after the breakfast, first, she would just deal with it. After last night, she was too scared of him, she didn't have it in her to defy him.
Defiance wasn't always the best option.
After freshening up, she changed her clothes, that too were provided by him. She went down to the table. Alizeh was also present there and his mother too. Several servants were standing by the table just to assist in case anyone asked.
Cold sweats popped up when her eyes fell on him, who was busy going through his mails on the phone. Not once, glancing at her.
"Roshanay, come sit next to me," Alizeh excitedly called her.
She moved there and sat next to Alizeh. The chair was just next to the left side of Moosa, who was sitting on head of table. His mother to his right side and she on his left, as now she sat parallel to his mother.
They started having breakfast, meanwhile Alizeh and Roshanay had small talks, and his mother and him were also talking about something. So the table wasn't quite as she expected it to be.
In between, she would feel his eyes on her, making her fist her shirt tightly. In his dreading presence, she felt a combination of anxiety, trepidation, and nervousness all at once. Her palms got sweaty, her heart rate increased, and she felt that fluttery nervous stomach feeling. Whenever, her eyes would accidentally moved towards his callous and veiny hands, her mind would recall, how by using these hands, he mercilessly stabbed that man.
