1. Fantasy
Fantasy fiction is a genre of fiction that involves elements that cannot exist within the real world. This fictional universe includes things like magic, mythology, or life from other worlds or universes.

2. Dystopia
A dystopia is, therefore, a place in which humanity is dehumanized and people live fearful lives. Furthermore, governing these societies are totalitarian regimes and often are faced with severe environmental catastrophes.
E.g. The Maze Runner, The Hunger Games, Divergent
3. Science Fiction
Usually futuristic, science fiction speculates about alternative ways of life made possible by technological change, and hence has sometimes been called "speculative fiction." Like fantasy, and often associated with it, science fiction envisions alternative worlds with believably consistent rules, structures and sets.

4. Horror
Horror is a genre of literature, film, and television that is meant to scare, startle, shock, and even repulse audiences. The key focus of a horror novel, horror film, or horror TV show is to elicit a sense of dread in the reader through frightening images, themes, and situations.
E.g. Smile, The Meg, Annabelle
5. Mystery
A mystery is simply an unsolved question and the attempt to answer it. In literature, this mystery is often a crime, but anything unexplainable can inspire a great mystery novel. Like all genre fiction, Mystery follows a formula, one that readers expect. The thing that must happen: something unexplainable.

6. Romance
inclining romance. Responsive to the appeal of what is idealized, heroic, or adventurous. Marked by expressions of love or affection. Conducive to or suitable for lovemaking.

7. Drama
A drama is defined as a form of fictional dialogue presented through action or theatrical performance. There is much more to playwriting than just providing an exchange of words. Aristotle came up with six elements of a drama: plot, characters, thought, diction, music, and spectacle.

8. Legend
A legend in literature is a traditional story or group of stories told about a particular person or place. Formerly the term legend meant a tale about a saint. Some legends are the unique property of the place or person that they depict.
E.g. Percy Jackson
9. Adventure
Adventure stories are a genre that involves protagonists going on epic journeys. These journeys are most often geographical but may also include emotional and personal journeys and growth. The adventure, the goal of the quest at hand, must take centre stage in an adventure story.
E.g. The Lost City, Uncharted
10. Fairy Tale
A fairytale is a genre of magical story, usually originating in folklore. Typically in European fairy tales, a poor, brave, and resourceful hero or heroine goes through testing adventures to eventual good fortune.
E.g. Maleficent, Cinderella
