Cautiously pushing the door open, Hailey walked out of the room holding a metal hanger tightly in her hands. The corridor stretched out before her, seemingly endless.the eerie silence of the house putting the now 11-year-old on edge.
With each step, her heart beat seemed to intensify going higher and higher until she felt it in her throat.
Her heart was hammering like a drum, and her mind went a hundred miles per hour with anxiety and fear.
"You got this" she whispered to herself, trying to muster up the courage to continue down the unfamiliar halls.
The antique decor and dimly lit halls only added to the surreal atmosphere, each room she passed seemed to contain expensive and strange items.
Suddenly, a faint sound reached her ears- a soft shuffle coming from the end of the halls. Hailey froze, her eyes widening as she gripped the hanger as if her life depended on it- and by the whole situation it seemed like it does.
Readying to defend herself against whatever threat that was lurking in the shadows, she got into a defensive pose holding the hanger in front of her.
A dog quickly darted across the corner, completely ignoring her as if she wasn't there.
She only caught a glimpse of its golden coat underneath the dim light.
Relieved, Hailey chuckled nervously. Realizing her panic was clouding her mind.
After calming her racing heart and waiting for her legs to stop shaking she continued.
Venturing deeper down the halls, she came across a slightly opened door, feeling curious she reached for the handle and-
"AHHH!" She screamed, the fucking owl scared her landing on her head and giving her a heart attack.
"Get of! Come on get of!!" She screamed again, shaking her head wildly until it flew off and gracefully landed on the floor standing near her.
If looks could kill the owl would have been six-feet-under by now.
Getting back onto the task at hand, she grabbed the door handle and opened it slowly. It opened with a creak revealing a room straight out of a dream.
Once the door fully opened she was suddenly hit with the scent of parchment polished wood and the faint aroma of red cedar that was prominent through the whole house.
The other side of the door revealed a painting of the puddlemere united's crest displayed proudly on the door, the inside of the room was brimming with quidditch memorabilia.
The walls were plastered with posters, team pennants and signed photographs of puddlemere united's legendary players.
The room is illuminated by soft golden lights that casts a warm glow over the collection.
In the corner sat a plush red armchair with what seemed like a red and gold scarf resting on top of it and a quaffle in its seat, the bed was neatly organized and the table was a mess of parchment and ink.
Hailey's confusion deepened and her curiosity peaked.
"Quidditch...?" She muttered in disbelief, she couldn't believe it! She was in the Harry Potter universe?! Or in what seemed to be a really elaborate prank.
In these circumstances she couldn't help but believe in the second option, no way she was actually in another universe. It is just plain stupid to believe that.
Shaking off her growing curiosity she continued forward trying to find the exit.
After a while of Hailey wandering through the house and her getting lost more than she is willing to admit, the labyrinth passages of the house seemed to blend together, each corridor full of tapestries and curious relics making her overwhelmed and lose her sense of direction.
