*Hi, I am new to Wattpad and I hope you enjoy this story*
A few months after Hiccup learns how to walk again* -Gobbers Pov-
Gobber- "Welcome to Survival Training! This is where all ye younglings will learn to survive in the wild. I will be your teacher, again. Tomorrow, we will all go to the woods so pack ye bags with what ye THINK ye need." I wouldn't normally be this happy but I am just excited to see Hiccup in the wild again. That was one of the few places where he was happy and in his element.
*The next day, at the edge of the forest*
I watched as Snotlout and the twins poke fun at Hiccup, saying that he will fail and get eaten by a wild animal the moment he walks in the woods. Fishlegs and Astrid looked annoyed at the three jokesters and Hiccup looked extremely happy while he looked at the woods, not even acknowledging the trio making fun of him. I look at Hiccup with a fond and happy smile before glaring at the Twins and Snotlout, causing them to quickly shut up. "Alright, let's get going we want to find shelter before the sun sets!" Hiccup holds onto his leather pouch tighter and walks close to me, still wary of his classmates. Fishlegs and Astrid walk side by side, occasionally talking to each other and the Trio behind them. Snotlout and Tuffnut barely stopped talking and Ruffnut would just mess around with everyone. *After a few hours* "Gobber, we should check around that cave to look for signs of anything inhabiting it and if not we can use it for shelter." Hiccup whispered to me, most likely not wanting to have the attention of the others. I look around to see that there is actually a cave nearby. "Good idea, Hiccup." I grab him and lift him onto my shoulder, surprising him with the sudden movement. "Come on, ye pipsqueaks. Let's go this way!" I say to the tired teens without looking at them. When we get at the cave, Hiccup sees claw marks but he shows me that they are all years old and we shouldn't have to worry about bothering something that lives in the cave that can potentially kill us. I also noticed the other teens looking at Hiccup in surprise and I smile smugly at them while Hiccup's back is turned. "Alright, Lads. Let's get our shelter set up, we don't want something dangerous entering the cave while we sleep" I told them before looking for Hiccup, finding out that he already was gathering materials.
-Astrid's POV-
I watch as Hiccup gathers materials and how he interacts with Gobber. He seems to be in his element but when someone who is not Gobber tries to talk to him he closes up and tries to escape the conversation without being rude. He also tries to help others as much as he can without making them feel stupid and weak or make himself uncomfortable and shy. I grab my ax and start chopping a few trees, packing all of that information away for later.
*When they finish with the materials, everyone but Gobber and Hiccup are resting on the ground*
-Fishlegs POV-
I watch, entranced as Hiccup starts putting the wood together with some rope that he had in his pouch. He looks so relaxed and at peace, like he has been doing stuff like this for years and enjoys it.(My innocent Fishlegs, you have no idea, also this is not a ship, Hiccstrid all the way!) Gobber helps him with the heavier pieces but other than that Hiccup is putting together the shelter by himself. I walk over to Hiccup and tap his shoulder. "Hey, Fishlegs! Do you need something?" Hiccup asks me with a small tilt of his head ,without looking away from his work. I wonder why he always asks people if they need something when they approach him? "I just wanted to see if I can watch you while you work and maybe help you if you need it?" I seem a little nervous asking him but I don't know why. "Of course you can, I will ask if I need help" "OK!" I walk over to a tree stump and watch as he works, dutifully, on the shelter.
