It's been about 5 months since WW3 started and nothing has really changed emotionally. Everyone is still scared for their lives, but everyone still refuses to even speak about the war. America is taking heavy casualties and it's not looking good for us.
Ally is now in her history class with just 20 minutes left of school. Suddenly Ally hears the school speaker turn on.

"Hello, everyone this is Principal Evan. I have a very important announcement to tell everyone." His voice stuttered a bit. (Principal Evan)

"Due to the military's casualties we are in need of more soldiers-" (Principal Evan)

(Ally's thoughts)

No way, don't tell me he's going to say what I think-

"The government has decided to hold a "draft" for all high schools. This includes any sophomore, junior, and senior that doesn't have any major health conditions. Freshman will not be a part of the draft. The draft will be held this Friday. That is all I have. Have a good day everyone." (Principal Evan)

Everyone could tell the principal was struggling to get through that announcement.
Everyone's gloomy faces immediately disgusted in horror. No one could believe what they just heard. The government was going to send children to war.

The days seemed to be going fast. Until finally it was Friday. The scariest moment of anyone's lives, to be drafted into war.
The school was required to have 10 kids drafted since it was a small school. Some bigger schools had to have 50-100 kids drafted.
The only way to get out of the draft was to either have a severe medical condition or to be a freshman. There was one other way though. If someone volunteered. If you got picked for the draft and someone else volunteered instead you get out of it.
Though no one was dumb enough to volunteer themselves for war. Right?
