No, can't you see? I'm just warning you. He hates you. You're worthless, listen this time. Worthless worthless stupid worthless.

He was crying, he slid down the wall of his room. He couldn't breathe and oh god oh god the voices were right. He was stupid, worthless. Josh's phone buzzed.

Hey Josh, I've never really done this before but I was wondering if you wanted to hang out?

Josh sighed in relief, releasing his grip on his hair. Tyler didn't hate him.

To: Tyler
Hey Ty, sure I can come over, what time?

He hit send, anxious for a response. It came after one minute and thirty six seconds, not that Josh was counting.

Um, maybe now? Or any time really. I live on Walter street, about a km from the train station. Number 36.

Josh stood up, dried his eyes, and splashed his face with cold water.
"Pull yourself together. You can do this."
