NOBODY'S POV-

Jack closed his eyes and placed two fingers to Maya's pulse point.

"Come on Maya," Jack whispered as he waited for a beat. Jack waited and waited for what felt like forever but finally he felt the one thing he was praying for, a pulse. A tear rolled down Jack's cheek as he felt he could breathe again. Maya was alive!

"You alright Jack? I can come over there and help you if you need?" Andy questioned as she saw it was only Jack rescuing Maya with no backup.

"No it's ok, I've got her. Anyways you know the rules you have to save the patients first." (That's not true, but for now it is!) Jack smiled as he grabbed the C-collar and carefully placed it around Maya's neck. Andy nodded and went back to helping Sullivan with the male patient.

Jack got the wire cutters and cut the wire from around Maya's waist, he had to be very careful as he didn't know the extent of her injury or injuries for all he knows. As he cut the last wire he picked her up and placed her on the floor, this way he could stabilise her properly. He knew he had to work fast, as something was very wrong as Maya hadn't woken up yet. Usually a patient is only unconscious for a few seconds but it's been multiple minutes by now. Before he could stabilise Maya he had to cut off all of Maya's clothes to see if he could see any bleeding, bruises or any sign of injury.

He looked over Maya's body but to his surprise nothing that screamed injury. Jack was worried about Maya's heart rate so he placed her on a heart rate monitor to make him feel a little bit better. He saw that her heart rate was at 80 bpm, which is in the normal range so he didn't have to worry about her heart rate at the moment.

"What do I need to check now? Come on Jack! Think! You have done the thousands of times!" Jack screamed as he got frustrated at himself, as this is his friends life on risk because his is to dumb to remember something he has done so many times before.

"Pupils! Jack you check pupils. Come on man, we have done this so many times! Remember to place her on the spinal board before checking her pupils!" Andy yelled as he heard Jack having problems.

"Thank Andy!" Jack replied to Andy, feeling like a small child who just got lectured. He quickly ran over to the First Aid bag and pulled out the portable spinal board and quickly put it together in record time. He went back over to Maya and rolled her onto her back whilst trying to stabilise her head by himself. With one hand he pulled the spinal board behind Maya, once he was happy where the spinal board was located he slowly lowered Maya onto the spinal board and strapped her head and body down.

Jack then grabbed his flashlight from the First Aid bag and checked Maya's eyes, he checked the left then right to find them both dilated, the right worse than the left one. He then turned around to place the flashlight back into the First Aid bag only to be stopped by a movement.

"Maya?" He whispered as he grabbed her hand.

"Mom...my? Maya slurred, not totally all there.

"No it's me Jack, I'm going to get you to the hospital now. They are going to get you checked out, ok?" Jack reassured Maya who shut her eyes from the light.

"Captain, I've got Maya stabilised but I need a gurney and help transporting her to the aid car." Jack stated into the radio, Captain told him that he is going to send Herrera. Isn't she helping the male patient? Jack looked over his shoulder only to see the car and no one else, he must have been so focused on Maya he didn't hear Herrera and Sullivan exiting.

Step, step, step

Jack looked up to see Herrera walking towards him with gurney and a sad look on her face.

"Alright, let's get her to the hospital! On the count of 3 we lift her onto the gurney!" Andy stated, going straight into leader mode.

"3, 2, 1. Lift!" They both grunted at the same time. They lifted up Maya and onto the gurney, where Herrera placed a blanket over Maya, knowing Maya wouldn't like everyone seeing her naked. They walked to gurney to the aid car and loaded Maya up. Herrera decided to drive as she felt bad knowing this was her fault. Jack stayed with Maya in the back.

"Maya, I need you to open your eyes. I know it's bright, but I need to check your eyes again." Jack tried to convince Maya, but her stubborn self wasn't having no of it.

"Jack. I'm tried and it's to bright. You can check my eyes at the hospital!" Maya tried to bargain, Jack just shook his head knowing it's either Maya's way or the highway. So to make himself useful he got out the clipboard and started to fill out the patient information sheet.

"Alrighty, you know the deal. I have to ask you all these questions, please answer them properly." Jack said knowing to well that Maya will lie on at least half of these questions.

"Where are you hurting? And on a scale from 1 to 10 rate the pain." Jack asked, already having some sort of idea about the injuries Maya has obtained.

"Mmm. Head, waist and for some weird reason my finger. I don't know about the pain maybe a 7 for my head and waist, maybe a 3 at most for my finger." Maya stated as she slowly opened her eyes to look at her finger, only to find out that she couldn't move.

"Well hello there!" Jack giggled as he saw Maya had her eyes open. Maya only smiled and went to close her eyes again, only to be stopped by the sound of the Aid Car doors opening.

"Maya Bishop, Female, 28 years old. Dilated eyes, possible fractured rib and finger. Unconscious for 4 minutes, also slurring of some words." Jack listed off the injuries as Maya just laid there shocked at all the possible injuries she could have right now. She soon began to feel a tear, so she quickly closed her eyes.

Maya quickly opened her eyes, Carina! Who will tell her? Will this mean the end of her relationship? Will Carina think she is unreliable? Maya began to panic, she started to hyperventilate.

"Maya!"
