Killer: The Sentinel
Lore:
Understanding the extraterrestrial and incomprehensible seems impossible. Yet, the exception confirms the rule.
Malumi Tacitus, born in a time only known from history books, was the first human in her universe to be haunted by the black mist. Her homeland remains one of the most renowned periods in human history to this day.
She was among the most intelligent individuals of the Holy Roman Empire, although this was a secret she guarded closely. Even in her childhood, Malumi explored her surroundings with curiosity, and at the age of ten, she questioned the reasons for existence—a topic that would continue to perplex humanity for millennia.
Malumi never married nor bore children, a choice society frowned upon. After all, she was a woman born to bear children. However, Malumi preferred reading ancient texts, engaging in debates with like-minded men and women, and participating in sports to keep her body fit and increase her chances of a long life. The latter she discovered through self-analysis within her circle of acquaintances. Malumi firmly believed she was the one who could change the world, an ultimate proof to herself and those around her—an arrogant view fueled by ambition.
One evening, while walking along the city walls of Rome, Malumi saw black mist emanating from a nearby forest. Curiosity seized her, compelling her into the thicket, where she discovered the origin of the mist in a rocky crevice. There, on the rocky surface, the mist meandered in all directions, as if the fingers of a blind person were exploring the surroundings. The crevice itself glowed blue and violet. She could discern some outlines, as if an endless cavity existed between the two rocks, perhaps another world.
Malumi was so impressed that she almost forgot about the deadly trap ahead. Just as the mist was about to reach her ankles, Malumi leaped into the air and grabbed onto a thick branch of a nearby oak. As the mist crawled up the tree, she swung out of reach. When she turned back to the crevice, the mist had completely disappeared.
It took almost a decade, during which Malumi visited the crevice almost daily, for the black mist to return. This time, she didn't want to wait another decade for the opportunity of a lifetime. Instead of running away from the mist, she sprinted directly toward the source. Before the mist could ensnare her, her fingers already touched the world behind the dark wall.
As she opened her eyes on the other side, her jaw dropped involuntarily. What Malumi saw on the other side was far from human. A crimson sky stretched across the horizon, covered by thick black clouds. The metallic scent of blood had mixed with the sweet smell of honey. Blood and a honey that was nowhere to be seen. The black mist covered the ground beneath Malumi's feet, making her feel like she was standing on the clouds of hell.
For hours, Malumi wandered through the endless expanses before her, completely forgetting the distance to the intersection between worlds. For a normal person, the sight, coupled with the smell, would have caused a nervous breakdown and subsequent insanity, but not for Malumi Tacitus. She studied the mist's behavior in response to various stimuli, including loud noises and violent intrusion. In doing so, Malumi realized again how alive it seemed. During her journey through the foreign terrain, thunder-like screams attempted to instill fear in her, but she was only fascinated. A shadowy creature attacked her, but with Malumi's physical strength, she could overpower the beast and easily break its neck. Afterward, the monster dissolved into sand and was dispersed by a nonexistent wind.
However, walking through hell does not leave even the strongest and most intelligent woman unchanged. Although Malumi noticed it within moments of it starting, she consciously did nothing to stop it. Her body became more muscular, her veins protruded prominently. Her eyes began to develop light sensitivity, a change she noticed only through a migraine attack that began with a lightning strike. What was once full hair was now a receding hairline. What was once a beautiful face was now not even worthy of a mother's love.
Time in the realm of the Entity turned Malumi into a grotesque monstrosity, yet she declared herself a servant willingly. Her physical strength, willing spirit, and above-average intellect made her a perfect guardian of the interfaces between the outside world and other worlds, to keep unwanted guests at bay. The Entity created endless copies, one for each interface. The weakest of these copies served other purposes. Purposes in which blood flowed in streams and screams were collected for the storm in the realm of the Entity. This was a great honor for Malumi, who enthusiastically admired the cloning process. As the chosen one of an extraterrestrial deity, she could now truly change the world. Not just hers, but every world.
Appearance:The Sentinel is an imposing opponent solely due to her size. Muscular arms and athletic legs have caused tears in her sleeves and pant legs. Her deformed face stands out with two orange points for eyes, and her clothing scraps adorned with leaves and branches provide perfect camouflage in wooded areas.
As a weapon, the Sentinel wields the Aether Thorn, a spear crafted from oak wood and the power of the Entity. The shaft is made of oak wood and is wrapped in a black-and-orange vine of the Entity, culminating in a sharp spike as the spearhead. When the spearhead comes into contact with blood, the entire vine pulsates, as if it were swallowing the blood along the shaft.

Mori:The Sentinel thrusts her spearhead into the abdomen of the standing Survivor, emerging from the back. Due to the living nature of the tip, it now snakes up the Survivor's back, wrapping around their neck before forcefully entering the Survivor's chest and exiting at another point in the back. Afterward, the Sentinel pulls on her spear, causing the spearhead to trace its path backward entirely. This action additionally slits the Survivor's throat, and the victim collapses to the ground.
Map: Ancient Forest Ruins - Red ForestFrom Malumi's memories of visits to the Colosseum with her father, the Entity created a new arena filled with blunt and rusty weapons from the inventory of the Grand Colosseum, deeply embedded in the decaying corpses of former gladiators. This was a personal request from Malumi to maintain a sense of home for her services—a wish that is rarely granted.
Overgrown tree stumps lean against toppled marble columns and broken statues of Roman gods, amidst which now stand wooden pallets wrapped in chains. At the edge of the area lies the still mist-drenched crevice where Malumi once disappeared and from which the Sentinel emerged. The rocky wall extends like a parasite through the brick wall, which serves as a boundary in many areas of the Entity.
The Sentinel erected a small altar in the exact center of this corrupted version of her homeland, to honor the Entity that fulfilled her life's desire.
A basement appears either at the altar or at the killer shack, decorated with shattered wooden shields of fallen gladiators.
