"I'm still trying to find it, you know?"

"Find what?" Snow said, almost barked.

"Find my sweet Coryo." That nickname struck him. He hadn't heard it since... the 10th Hunger Games. "Find that sweet boy who met his tribute before he was meant to. The boy who gave her a token of his appreciation. The boy who did everything for her to win, and succeeded. The boy who followed her when she was sent back home. Don't you wonder what could've happened if you stayed?"

"I did stay, Tigris." He didn't really want to think about that. Forget he existed at that time. Forget she existed. "Not all the 20 years as a Peacekeeper, but I did."

"You know what I mean," Tigris huffed.

He sighed. "Where are you going with this? I'm not following."

"I know he's there, somewhere. Hidden. I know he is. He has to be... I can't have lost him..." Tigris looked down, not feeling herself with all those Capitol clothes she had on. Like they didn't feel right on her. Like she didn't feel right with where she was now.

"Finished?" Snow asked impatiently. Tigris sighed and nodded, turning around and heading out. His firm, dreadful voice stopped her. "I don't want you to talk about that anymore. It's no use, thinking about what could've been. What's past is past. Now we are here. I am here. And I will not go anywhere."

We'll see about that, she thought on her way out. That's when she knew he was definitely gone. Her Coryo is gone. And he's been replaced with someone with a heart of stone and as cold as snow. She hoped time would melt it away. Oh, how wrong she was.
