The team all sat in their change room, shaking their knees and waiting for the coaches to come in and give them an "inspirational speech". They were all nervous and excited to start out their season and to kick some ass. All the guys had given their jersey's to a girl they all hope they'd see sitting in the crowd. Luke was the most worried not to see Haley sitting in the crowd of people.

The door opened and first stepped through Lance, then Dave, then lastly Scarlet and everyone frowned when they saw her except Ashton. He smirked, and she quickly made eye contact with him. She wasn't wearing his jersey yet, but it was in her hand.

"Okay team. I'd like you to meet Scarlet, she's going to be one of the coaches." Lance explained and the whole team seemed to be shocked. A couple heads tilted while a few others raised their eyebrows, but Luke sat there looking stunned.

"Scarlet is going to coach us?" Luke was the first to question it.

"Yes. I think you guys will be able to learn a few things from her," Dave spoke like he genuinely meant it, and then he gave Luke a look to tell him not to question it.

The whole team nodded slowly in response, but no one spoke a word as they were too afraid of getting in trouble. Everyone knew Scarlet was Lance's daughter, and they knew if they were rude they'd have a problem with Lance.

"Okay team. So it's the first game," Lance started the inspirational speech. He spoke words of encouragement and uplifted the guys' spirits. Once he finished everyone yelled and stood to their feet with excitement and left the change room. The coaches stayed behind so they could lock up the room.

As each player walked out Dave hit them in the shoulder and told them to kick some ass. Most of the guys gave Scarlet an uneven look, except when Ashton walked past he gave her a grin with a nod. He was the last to leave and Scarlet locked up the room as the other coaches walked to the bench.

As she walked to the bench she saw Rosalina and Liane talking. Scarlet walked by and paused when she reached them. Besides Scarlet, Liane was Rosalina's only other friend in the school as of the moment. Liane was a quiet girl who always had her nose in a book, but she was the sweetest person whenever you talked to her.

"Hey Scarlet!" Rosalina chirped, happy to see another familiar face. "Nice jersey," she chuckled with a blush.

Scarlet smiled at her and looked her over, Rosalina was drowning in Calum's huge jersey. "Same to you," she smirked.

Rosalina blushed even more and looked to the ground. She felt uneasy about this Calum kid who gave her jersey and she wasn't sure how she felt about it. Not yet anyways.

Scarlet smiled. "Well hey, it's cool that you guys came to this. But I kind of have to run before I get in trouble, but both of you have fun watching the game." Scarlet nodded and ran off to go stand on the bench.

The team started warm up, skating around whilst passing to each other and taking shots on the goalie to warm him up. They do a couple drills before the buzzer goes off and both teams skate over to their bench.

The team huddled close together as their breathes were visible in the cold arena air, their nerves had their blood pumping, and they were all excited to play their first game.

"Okay team. This is our first game, lets go out there and show them who they're playing against!" Lance yelled and hit his hand against the board to make a more dramatic effect. "I know we can do this, so let's go out there and play our hardest!" He shouted with enthusiasm and the whole team yelled back, then they proceeded to do their team cheer.

The first stringers stayed on the ice while everyone else gathered onto the bench. Scarlet worked the offensive gate while Dave worked the defensive gate, and Lance stood on the bench so he could see everything.
