There was a tradition that came with being on the hockey team. For the first home game you had to give away your away jersey to someone. They did this for fun and because it was a good way for some of the guys to tell a girl they liked them without actually saying it. See, if you got a jersey that typically meant that that guy thinks your hot, or cute, or would possibly think of dating you.
Tons of girls wanted a jersey. Hell, most girls in the school wanted a jersey.
Ashton didn't really love this tradition. Well, he liked it because he knew that whoever he gave his jersey to would possibly think about sleeping with him, but he always found that whoever he gave his jersey to always thought that meant he had a huge crush on them. So then that girl would become clingy and he hated that more than anything. Especially since in all honesty he just thought they were hot and that was it.
Ashton's eyes scanned the halls as he searched for someone he should give his jersey to.
"Hey Ash!" He heard Luke's voice call him. He released a deep sigh and turned to see Luke walking quickly up to him, dragging Scarlet right behind him. Ash smiled at Scarlet and nodded at Luke.
"What's up?" He asked, hoping Luke wasn't coming over to start a stupid argument like he always did with Ashton.
Luke grinned cheekily. "Are you pumped for our game?" He asked with so much enthusiasm. Luke was so excited, and Luke was always that way about the first game of the season. He couldn't wait to get back on the ice and finally play a real game again.
Ashton nodded and smiled. "Yeah," he didn't sound too excited but he was on the inside. He was ready to kick some ass, he just didn't express it as much as Luke.
"Lukey!" A whiney voice echoed through the hall.
Ashton watched as Scarlet rolled her eyes and pretended to shoot herself in the head as Luke turned and smiled widely at Haley. Ashton chuckled and watched as the head cheerleader skipped over, and gave Luke a huge hug and he pulled her in close.
"I'm gonna get to class. See you around, Luke," Scarlet mumbled as Hailey decided to attach her lips to Luke and turn him away from Scarlet. She looked to Ashton, nodded then walked away.
Ashton laughed softly and caught up to Scarlet as he didn't want to stay there with the two making out. "What class do you have?" He asked.
She eyed him before sighing and letting her shoulders drop. "AP english, you?"
"Just normal english," he grinned.
She nodded. "It's okay, Irwin, you just focus on hockey," she smiled and looked down. They both chuckled at her joke, mainly because Ashton did do well in his classes, he just decided to not go above and beyond and take anything too hard that'd need more concentration than he wanted to give.
"Hey, Scarlet," Ashton spoke up, not sure what he was doing, but getting an idea.
She looked at him with her blue eyes wide open. "Yeah, what's up?"
Ashton played with the material of his jersey as he found they were paused and Scarlet was at her locker. He bite his lip before he decided to just go for it anyways.
"Do you, uh, do you wanna wear my jersey tonight?" He asked and held out his jersey in his hand.
Scarlet looked up at Ashton, shocked. "Oh, uh, sure?" She had no idea why Ashton would give her his jersey or what it meant. She didn't really want to accept it since it felt so weird, and she didn't know if this meant Ashton thought she was attractive or what his intentions were. But Scarlet was too nice to turn him down, so she figured her only option was to accept it.
