Back at Jujutsu High:

When Yaga walked out the doors and down the steps of Jujutsu High, the first thing he came across was the hunched back of Gojo Satoru.

There was no need to ask why he was sitting there.

Yaga went straight to the point. "Why didn't you kill him?"

Silence.

Satoru's voice. Monotone, and no emotion.

"Did you seriously just ask me that?"

"...I'm sorry."

What else was Yaga supposed to say? He knew of their relationship. Just because Satoru was the strongest did not merit that he was therefore exempt to human emotion.

The man left in silence, leaving Satoru to remain in his thoughts.

And Satoru was lost in thought.

Suguru leaving. The scene kept replaying in his head like a broken record.

Even Haibara was gone.

Satoru's mind took him back to an event a year ago.

The two facing one another inside the headquarters of the Star Religious Group, surrounded by non-sorcerers clapping.

Clapping because Riko Amanai was dead.

Satoru remembered his words.

"Suguru. Should we kill them all?"

Satoru remembered Suguru's shocked expression at the suggestion.

"With the way I am now, I don't think I would feel any guilt if we killed them."

Satoru remembered Suguru's words.

"Don't. There's no point in killing them. It won't change anything. There's no reason."

If there wasn't a reason, then why did Suguru leave? What changed?

Questions spiraled around Satoru's brain. Questions of what could've been.

Suddenly, he realized.

Suguru was always right. Everything the black-haired boy did had a reason. A cause.

So, going by this logic, Suguru had a reason in wanting to kill all non-sorcerers.

A good reason.

Satoru's mind was an emotional wreck, but in his heart, he knew what he wanted to do.

What he had to do.

A classroom.

The sun sets over the school.

Yaga has a routine. Teach kids, exorcise curses, and then paperwork.

It was going per normal, when Shoko walked in, an unlit cigarette in her mouth.

She had a neutral expression, yet the fact that her cigarette wasn't lit was interesting if not worrisome.

Yaga spared her a glance, before looking back down at his papers.

Another paper entered his vision.

"What's this?" He asked, looking at the girl.

"Satoru's gone." She said, a casual expression on her face.

"He left a letter. And this."

In her hand was a button.

The gold button that belonged on a Jujutsu Tech student's uniform.

I think I'm just doing monthly updates at this point.

Sorry for the short chapter, I was just hit with sudden inspiration.

I'll try to write the next one as fast as possible.

Bye!
