I miss the days where it was simple. On a night almost 2 months ago me and my boys were raiding a village when I came across a woman and her child. I don't understand why but when that little girl's eyes met my own I was stunned. Something clicked inside my mind. Before I knew it my vision blurred with tears. I ran from my men as they burned that village down. I couldn't explain what happened. But then I saw behind me a light. My panicked mind raced as bolt of lightning came down on that village. I recognized the hero. A Paladin with his party, a wizard, a barbarian, and a Cleric. My men were obliterated and as I panicked wondering if I would be next I heard "Now pay up!" I peaked up to see the hero and his party grabbing bags of coins. All those who didn't pay were executed by the barbarian. I was shocked when I saw this. As much as I hated him he was the hero. He was supposed to be saving people not extorting them. The panic spread throughout my entire body as I saw that girl being put on the chopping block. Next I knew I ran past the hero with the girl in my arms. I ran as fast as I could for as long as I could. The girl said nothing. She couldn't speak. The fear I felt from her heartbeat was terrifying. She went to sleep in my arms and her heart beat calmed. I set up a small spot in a cave. She was quiet in her breath and almost still in her motion. As she awoke she began to panic but suddenly calmed as she looked around. "W-where is my mommy" I couldn't respond. No matter what I told her it would hurt her. She cried for the next few hours
