At night

In the stillness of the night, I think of, A sweet little girl, with braids of brown, An angelic smile, innocence to crown.

Yet now, I'm haunted by a monstrous sight, A foul creature with a growling laugh, Transformed from the innocence, the epitome of wrath.

I question the journey, the twists and turns, When did the angelic gaze turn to hazel flames, Burning with shadows, bearing unseen claims?

Reflecting on a past, lost in the abyss, A metamorphosis, a change untold, From a cherub's grace to a story untold.

In the mirror, I search for that sweet embrace, Lost in the chaos, I can't erase, Yet, amidst the darkness, I yearn to find, A way back to innocence, a soul maligned.
